They had breakfast at the hotel restaurant, after which Zane had the concierge arrange a small conference room for them.

He opened his laptop and asked Elara to send over the compiled files so he could review them.

Elara suddenly felt an immense sense of security. As long as he was around, no problem seemed insurmountable.

Zane scanned the documents. Given the short timeframe, the level of detail she had achieved was quite impressive.

He was accustomed to evaluating problems from a superior's perspective.

For instance, with a project brief as rushed as this, he didn't care about the difficulties. He only cared about the results. The obstacles were for his subordinates to solve, not him.

But this was Elara. He had been fully prepared to sift through and refine everything for her personally. Yet, she had been incredibly thorough.

Even from this small task, it was evident that she possessed exceptional execution skills.

Zane gestured for her to come closer and used his mouse to highlight a few sections. "The direction is correct, but these specific points will conflict during actual implementation."

Elara immediately caught his drift. "You're right. That part isn't airtight yet."

She quickly proposed several revisions.

He pondered for a moment, an unmistakable look of admiration sparking in his eyes. "If you had been running Vance Properties after you got married, you wouldn't have even needed me."

Elara smiled. "You flatter me too much, Mr. Whitaker."

Zane's lips curved into a smile. "Talented executives aren't rare, and I certainly don't lack them. But I lack someone who can lead those talents. If you weren't the eldest daughter of the Vance family, I'd have poached you by now, whatever it took."

Elara laughed. "Once you acquire Vance Properties, Mr. Whitaker, I'll just come work for you."

Zane knew she was joking. Even if he acquired Vance Properties, as the Vance family's eldest daughter, she would inevitably return to the Vance Group.

"I told you, it's a capital injection," Zane said, looking at her with a soft smile.

Truthfully, they had never explicitly discussed a capital injection. Elara had always assumed his involvement was merely a PR stunt to boost the market's confidence in Vance. Hearing him state it so directly caught her off guard.

Elara smiled. "That works too. If you inject capital into Vance Properties, you become the big boss. Indirectly, I'd still be working for you. All roads lead to Rome."

Zane just looked at her, smiling without saying a word.
