Jasper had just managed to escape Jocelyn's lecture. Looking up, he spotted Zane striding back through the main entrance. Jasper hurried over.
"You should have come back sooner. I just got my head bitten off by my sister," Jasper complained.
"Did she hit you?"
"Even if she did, it's tough love," Jasper shot back stubbornly. "Wait, what's wrong with your face? It's red."
Zane walked faster, brushing past him. "Mind your own business."
Jasper chased after him. "That looks like a handprint. Besides my sister, who else in this city has the guts to slap you?"
"Shut up."

Julian fought to suppress his blazing fury as he hunted down Elara in the crowd.
Elara met his gaze with a look of pure ice. "What do you want?"
Julian's eyes immediately swept down to her lips, then tracked across her bare shoulders. Finding no visible marks, his gaze snapped back to her mouth.
"We need to talk."
"Save it for court."
Just then, Xavier Prescott—the fourth scion of the city's Elite Nine—strode into the hall. Julian instantly locked an arm around Elara's waist, using a painful grip to force her forward.
Dragged into compliance, Elara had no choice but to offer a polite greeting. "Xavier."
"Xavier, excuse us for a moment. We just need to handle something quickly," Julian said smoothly, physically dragging Elara by the waist toward the private lounges.
Xavier cast a curious glance at Julian's white-knuckled grip on Elara. When he turned his head, he noticed Zane Whitaker staring daggers at the couple. Meeting his eyes, Zane stepped forward.
"Mr. Prescott."

Once they were out of the public eye, Julian roughly shoved Elara through a set of heavy doors.
It was the exact same lounge.
Elara instantly realized what this was about.
Julian could no longer contain his rage. "What the hell were you doing in here earlier? Did you go down on Zane Whitaker?!"
Elara slapped him across the face as hard as she could.
"What the fuck was that for?!" he roared.
Elara stared at him with absolute contempt. "You asked what I was doing earlier."
"You're disgusting! You'd use any dirty trick in the book to save your damn company!"
