Hearing this, her father-in-law, Nathaniel Sterling, darkened with fury. His voice was dangerously low. "Call Julian. Tell him to get home immediately."

Sienna's expression was incredibly grim. Just as the servant handed her the phone, Julian walked through the front door.

"Julian!" Nathaniel barked, his voice laced with absolute authority.

Julian swept his gaze across the dining room and instantly understood exactly what was happening.

Elara had come to snitch.

She was deliberately dragging their mess in front of his parents.

Nathaniel’s face was like ice. "Explain yourself. Why did you force Elara out of the car yesterday?"

Sienna knew there was nothing to explain. The couple was at each other's throats, words had turned vicious, and inevitably, someone had lost their composure.

Terrified that her son would spit out another reckless insult in his anger, Sienna instantly intervened. "Julian, you have entirely lost your sense of boundaries! I don't care how you two fight behind closed doors, but the Prescott Manor?! Is this how I raised you to behave in public?"

Julian remained silent.

Elara had absolutely no desire to drain any more of her energy on him. She picked up her bag. "You can explain the divorce to Mom and Dad yourself. I'll wait for your call."

"Elara—" Sienna called out.

Elara offered a polite, shallow bow to her parents-in-law and walked straight toward the door.

Sienna was the matriarch of the Sterling clan. Since her daughter-in-law had refused to grant her face by staying, Sienna naturally wasn't going to lower herself by chasing after her.

The second Elara was out the door, Sienna abandoned all pretense of elegance. Furious, she delivered a sharp smack to her son's back, screaming, "What kind of monumental idiocy are you pulling?!"

"You are the eldest son of the Sterlings! The heir to the Sterling Group! Do I really need to spell out to you exactly how critical your public image is?!"

"You abandoned Elara on the side of the road at the Prescott Manor! She is already disgraced—how much lower can she actually fall?"

"The only person taking a massive hit here is you and your reputation!"

"You abandoned Vance Properties. To her, you hold zero practical value anymore!"

"And you’re the one who brought up divorce?!"

"How are you this stupid?!"

"The most critical thing you need to do right now is pacify her. You need to make sure she stays married to you, unconditionally, just to uphold your flawless public image!"

Being violently dressed down by his mother snapped Julian awake.

He had been so entirely consumed by the blinding rage of Elara’s perceived betrayal that he had been practically deranged with fury for days.
