"What?" Elara's eyes snapped open. He knew the inner workings of her social circle?

"They're terrified their husbands will find out, so they suffer in silence." Meeting her wide, stunning eyes, Zane added quietly, "I'm telling you the absolute truth."

Zane paused, thrown by the question. "Your takeaway from this should be Caleb's lack of character and why you need to stay far away from him. Don't make deals with the devil. Those women weren't just looking for an affair. When he targets decent women who reject him, he drugs them."
