The Scorned Heiress: No More Mercy novel Chapter 115

Chapter 115

Ever since he walked into the banquet hall, Evan hasn’t been able to take his eyes off Tara. Dressed in her elegant moon-white gown, she outshines every glittering socialite in the room. She looks more breathtaking than ever. A heavy wave of regret crashes over him. How did he never realize how incredible she was? He resolves to find a moment to talk to her

alone tonight. They just have a misunderstanding; he is sure he can fix it.

Watching Evan stare at Tara, Jade seethes with pure jealousy. How dare Tara try to seduce Evan right in front of her? Fine. If she is so desperate for a man, I will give her exactly what

she wants.

Jade sneaks to a quiet corner and rapidly types out a text message.

As the banquet flows with laughter and clinking glasses, Jade checks her screen, her lips curving into a wicked smile.

Tara, meanwhile, is hopelessly bored. Even though it is a family event, she is tempted to leave early. Kellen and Keira are currently surrounded by networking guests, so Tara decides to step out into the gardens for some fresh air. It is only polite to stay until the end, but she

needs a break from the noise.

As she navigates the patio, a server rushes toward her carrying a tray of red wine. Before Tara can fully step aside, the server trips, sending a splash of dark crimson directly onto Tara’s pale dress.

“Watch out!” Tara dodges the worst of it, but her hem is ruined.

“Oh my god, I am so sorry, Miss!” the server gasps in exaggerated panic. “I didn’t mean to!”

Tara looks down at the glaring red stain.

“Please, let me take you to a guest room to change,” the server pleads, bowing repeatedly.

Since Tara cut ties with the family, all her belongings were removed, and her old bedroom is likely locked. She considers waving it off, but walking through the main hall with a massive wine stain will definitely cause a scene.

“Fine. Lead the way.” Tara sighs.

The server guides her to a secluded guest room in the back wing. “Please wait here, Miss. I will bring you a fresh dress right away.”

“Alright, thank you,’ Tara nods.

As the server pulls the door shut, Tara misses the dark, triumphant gleam in the woman’s

eyes.

Outside in the garden’s shadows, a figure waits silently.
