The Scorned Heiress: No More Mercy novel Chapter 119

Chapter 119

Just wait, Tara. You will pay for this. Jade shoots Tara one final, venomous glare before being hauled off to the chapel. She swears she will exact her revenge.

Deanna watches her go, her heart breaking. Jade has been pampered her entire life; she won’t survive the damp, isolating conditions of the chapel. But Eleanor’s word is absolute law in the household. Despite their sympathy for Jade, there is nothing they can do but watch her suffer.

As a result, the Dennis family’s resentment toward Tara deepens. In their eyes, she is nothing but a curse who brought chaos into their home.

Tara, meanwhile, anticipated Jade’s fury, though she was slightly surprised the idiot tried to pull a stunt with so many witnesses around. Since Jade struck first, Tara feels absolutely no remorse for retaliating. She deserved everything she got.

Leaving the estate behind, Tara returns to her own apartment.

The next morning, a special delivery arrives. She unpacks an assortment of rare botanical seeds, intending to cultivate a small indoor garden of highly specialized medicinal herbs. Many of these strains required pulling favors from underground suppliers.

Since her schedule is open, she plans to formulate some custom supplements to strengthen Kellen’s and Eleanor’s health. And, of course, there is Danny. He is technically her patient now, and she takes her medical responsibilities seriously.

At Calhoun Corporation.

Danny strides into his executive office after a gruelling board meeting. Leo follows closely behind, closing the door.

Danny sinks into his leather chair, his jaw clenched, drumming his fingers against the mahogany desk. Leo carefully places a hot coffee in front of him. “Boss, try not to let him get to you.”
