The Scorned Heiress: No More Mercy novel Chapter 144

It would instantly build the agency's reputation, allowing them to produce massive hits and attract even more talent. The financial returns would be staggering.

Tara and Tricia clink their wine glasses, smiling at the bright future ahead.

The next morning, Tara is jolted awake by her ringing phone.

"Get back to the office right now, we need to talk!"

The moment she answers, that familiar, grating voice barks through the speaker. It is Alec. She had blocked all of her family members' numbers, so he is clearly using someone else's phone.

"Remind me why I have to listen to you again?" Tara sneers. Woken up abruptly, her morning crankiness is in full swing, and her patience is zero.

"I am your brother! When I tell you to come, you come! Need I remind you that you're still under contract with my company?" Alec's tone is unbearably arrogant. He is certain he has her backed into a corner.

"I'm hanging up," Tara says, completely unfazed by his threats.

"Wait!" Alec panics, knowing she will actually do it. "I pulled strings to get you a spot in the upcoming Supermodel Face-Off. Don't be ungrateful!"

"Are you sure you can get out of it?" Tricia asks, her brow furrowing with worry.

"Don't worry. By the time I'm done, they'll be the ones crying." Tara gives her a reassuring wink.

They head out to conquer their respective battles. Tricia goes to scout talent, while Tara marches straight into Dennis Media, walking directly into Alec's office.

"Do you have any idea what time it is? Do you even remember that you're an artist signed to this label?" Alec explodes the second he sees her strolling in, looking utterly unbothered. He feels deeply disrespected.
