Humiliated in the restaurant by someone as untouchable as Danny, Jade is practically suffocating from the sheer injustice of it all. She is entirely convinced that Tara had been whispering toxic lies about her behind her back, twisting Danny's perception of her.
She refuses to let this go.
The second Jade steps into the Dennis family mansion, the waterworks begin.
Alec, having just returned home, immediately spots his precious younger sister wiping away tears.
"Jade, what's wrong? What happened?"
"Sniff... I—I'm fine, Alec. Just leave me alone," she chokes out, feigning a pathetic attempt to run upstairs.
"Like hell I would!" Alec grabs her arm gently but firmly, refusing to let her escape. "Tell me exactly what happened. Who bullied you?"
"Well... I was out to dinner with a friend, and we ran into Tara..."
Jade puts on an award-winning performance, hesitating as if she doesn't want to speak ill of Tara before finally "giving in." She spins a wildly exaggerated tale, claiming Tara viciously bullied her and then manipulated Danny into joining in on the cruelty.
Twisting the truth and playing the victim is an art form she has perfected.
"She actually did that?!" Alec's face darkens instantly, his eyes burning with fury. He slams his hand down on the coffee table, making the teacups rattle.
What is Tara trying to prove?
Is she actively trying to declare war on him?
He hasn't even settled the score with her over stealing Jim's script, and now she is emotionally abusing Jade?
"Let's not talk about her anymore. She ruins my mood," Alec groans, waving a dismissive hand.
He knows that once that stubborn girl hits rock bottom and gets chewed up by the real world, she will finally realize how good she had it under the Dennis family's protection.
But Jade has no intention of dropping the subject. Striking while the iron is hot, she looks up with tear-filled eyes. "Alec... I want to shoot a movie too."
Alec hesitates, caught off guard by the sudden request. "The runway competition is coming up fast. That has to be your absolute priority."
"Focus all your energy on winning the competition. Once you take the crown, Jake is going to use that momentum to make you the most viral star of the season. When that happens, you'll have more scripts than you can read. You'll be exhausted from all the offers."
It isn't that they don't have top-tier resources to hand her right now; Alec is simply worried about her burning out. If she takes on too much, her health might suffer. And with the modeling competition right around the corner, Alec is highly stressed. He desperately wants his custom designs to be the absolute highlight of the show.
