Beneath her sweet facade, Jade seethes with jealousy. She hates watching the entire family revolve around Tara. Desperate to provoke a reaction, she pushes further.
"You should really just let the past go," Jade urges, sneaking a calculated glance at Tara. "We can all be so happy if we just get along like a real family."
Jade is practically begging for Tara to snap. If Tara throws a tantrum or acts aggressively, Jake and Nikolai will immediately jump to Jade's defense and resent Tara all over again.
Tara catches the pathetic scheme instantly. She gives Jade a lazy, dismissive look. "Sure," she replies, letting the single syllable hang in the air.
Furious that Tara refuses to take the bait, Jade doubles down on her victim act. "I just mean that our brothers put so much thought into this. It would be a shame for you to disappoint them."
Jake and Nikolai bristle at Tara's icy indifference. Seeing Jade speak so softly while Tara acts entirely unbothered sparks their protective instincts, but before they can intervene, Eleanor cuts through the tension.
"That is enough out of you," Eleanor snaps, fixing Jade with a stern glare. "Every time you open your mouth, you ruin the mood. Just stop talking."
