The Scorned Heiress: No More Mercy novel Chapter 244

"Don't worry about a thing. Just book a private room, get Evan to take this, and wait. I'll find a way to lure Tara upstairs," Jade says, discreetly slipping a small paper packet of white powder into Lana's hand.

"Are you sure this is safe?" Lana asks, staring at the packet.

"Completely. It just lowers inhibitions and creates a... feverish heat. There's no lasting harm to the body," Jade reassures her smoothly.

"Alright. Thank you for doing this," Lana says, squeezing Jade's hand with meaningful intensity.

"It's the least I could do. I felt so terribly guilty about that misunderstanding with your skincare routine. I almost ruined your radiant complexion, so I promised myself I'd make this up to you," Jade replies, effortlessly playing the innocent victim to absolve herself of their past conflict.

"It's water under the bridge. Just get this done for me," Lana says, matching her fake warmth. Her skin has recovered, and as long as Jade secures this marriage—and the thirty percent corporate shares Tara holds—Lana is more than willing to let bygones be bygones.

As Lana walks away, a sinister smirk curves Jade's lips. Lana thinks she is using Jade as a pawn, completely oblivious to the fact that Jade is playing her like a fiddle.
