"Tara, what do you mean by that?" Jade's voice trembles perfectly, tears pooling in her eyes. "I know you've always hated me. I know you think I stole Mom and Dad from you, and you're jealous that our brothers shower me with the love that should have been yours. But I swear, I never meant to steal anything. If you're really this angry, I'll pack my bags and move out of the Dennis family estate today. Would that make you happy?"
This is Jade's signature move. The pathetic, vulnerable victim routine has worked flawlessly for years, successfully turning the entire Dennis family against Tara while keeping Jade safely on a pedestal. She is fully confident it will work again.
"If you're suffering from persecution delusions, go see a psychiatrist. Get yourself checked into a ward," Tara replies, eyeing her with a mixture of pity and boredom. "You're too young to be acting in these exhausting soap operas every single day. Don't you get tired?"
Tara isn't tired, but the audience certainly is. It's no wonder Jade's acting career is tanking; she recycles the same cheap damsel-in-distress routine until everyone is sick of it. But Jade is oblivious to her own transparency. She only feels pure, burning hatred for Tara's growing arrogance.
However, the crying act is merely a distraction. In the next second, Jade violently jerks backward, letting out a blood-curdling shriek as if Tara has shoved her with massive force. She throws her body toward the steep concrete stairs behind her.
Since you made me beg for forgiveness and humiliated me, I'll destroy you! Jade thinks, her mind racing with triumph. She had rehearsed this exact fall hundreds of times in her bedroom, perfecting the angle, the scream, and the expression of sheer terror. To guarantee success, she even activated a hidden signal jammer in her pocket to wipe out the surrounding security cameras. She fully intended to provoke Tara into an argument, fake a vicious assault, and permanently brand Tara as an unhinged, violent psychopath. Jade doesn't care if she breaks a bone; destroying Tara's reputation is worth the pain.
