The Scorned Heiress: No More Mercy novel Chapter 33

Chapter 33

The Dennis Family has been relentlessly busy at the corporate headquarters, their collective focus fixated on a singular, urgent goal: securing the thirty percent of the company’s shares currently held by Tara. Knowing she is temporarily isolated on ‘The Elite Circle,’ they have been exploiting her absence to plot a hostile takeover of her assets.

Gathered in their lavish living room, Deanna sips her tea. “By the way, hasn’t Jade been filming that reality show for about a week now? Isn’t she coming home soon?”

‘Yes, Mom,” Jake replies, loosening his silk tie. “She finishes her final day tomorrow.” He has spent the last forty-eight hours buried in legal documents, leaving Jade’s PR management to Vicky. He assumes everything is running smoothly.

‘They’re doing a live broadcast, right?” Deanna asks, her eyes lighting up. ‘Cast it to the television. I want to see how my darling Jade is doing.”

Jake picks up the remote and quickly syncs the livestream to the massive screen.

However, the scene that fills the room is not of Jade shining like a star. nstead, Tara is expertly breaking down a live fish, while Jade cowers in he background, her face twisted in utter disgust.

‘What… what is this?” Deanna’s smile vanishes. “Why is Jade just standing there like that?”

Jake frowns, his sharp gaze locking onto the screen. “It must be some sort of script the production team gave her.”

Before he can finish the sentence, Jade’s piercing scream echoes through the speakers. They watch in stunned silence as she hurls the fish into the crowd, hitting a little girl. The screen instantly floods with vicious, condemning comments directed at the Dennis family’s golden child.

“Outrageous!” Mr. Dennis slams his hand onto the coffee table, his face red with fury. “What do these mindless viewers know?! Jade has been raised in the lap of luxury! She isn’t meant for this kind of degrading peasant work!”

Jake’s expression darkens with conflict as he watches Tara’s flawless performance. “But Tara is handling it perfectly…”

Alec scowls, crossing his arms aggressively. “Don’t bring up that backstabbing snake, Jake! She’s doing this on purpose to humiliate Jade! Besides, she’s always been a rude tomboy. This kind of grunt work

suits her.”

Deanna stares at the barrage of hateful comments, her heart breaking. “Jade was always so sweet and well-behaved at home. Why is the show editing her to look like this?”

“It’s just for the drama,” Alec insists. “But why didn’t the director force Tara to play the villain to make Jade look better? Jake, didn’t you talk to the production team?”

‘It’s a live broadcast, Alec,” Jake replies, rubbing his temples in

frustration. “There is no editing right now. The director can’t control what happens in real time.”

He severely regrets forcing the girls onto this show. He orchestrated it to crush Tara’s spirit and boost Jade’s popularity to new heights. Instead, the plan has spectacularly backfired.

Watching viewers demand her daughter leave the entertainment industry, Deanna grabs Jake’s arm. “Call the network! Tell them to cut Jade’s camera time immediately! If this continues, her entire reputation will be destroyed!”

“Mom, I can’t,” Jake says grimly. “We’re at the very end of the live feed. Pulling strings now will only cause a massive public backlash against our family.”

“Then what are we supposed to do?!” Deanna wrings her hands, pacing
