Chapter 32
Jade stumbles backward, her face turning a sickly shade of green. The live chat loses its collective mind, with viewers cheering as they finally see the pampered starlet put in her place.
Tara finishes prepping the fish, and before long, a massive line forms in front of their stall. She doesn’t just sell the fish whole; she offers custom filet services and throws in cooking advice tailored to each customer.
‘Ma’am, if you’re cooking for a toddler, the steamed bass is your best bet,” Tara says with a warm smile.
She turns to an older gentleman. “Sir, for your back pain, take this eel. I’ll give you a special herbal blend to boil with it for a healing broth.”
‘Need it for spicy fish? No problem,” she tells the next woman in line. “I’ll slice the filets paper-thin. All you have to do is drop them straight into the oot when you get home.”
The comments flood the screen:
What kind of god-tier customer service is this?!]
Is Tara opening a seafood market? Take my money!]
Meanwhile, I’m dying at Jade. She’s wearing thick rubber gloves and still ooks terrified.]
I’m officially unstanning Jade. Her true colors are so ugly.]
At the other end of the stall, Jade is a complete disaster. She stands as ‘ar away from the tanks as physically possible, pinching her nose and demanding that customers scoop their own catches.
Amanda, who had the misfortune of being paired with her for the day, finally snaps. “Jade, are you going to help sell the fish or just stand there?”
Called out publicly, Jade has no choice. Suppressing her disgust, she

uses two fingers to hesitantly pinch the tail of a small fish. The moment she lifts it, the fish thrashes violently, slapping her directly across the cheek with its wet tail.
‘Ah!” Jade screams, hurling the fish away. It sails through the air and smacks right into a passing little girl, who instantly bursts into terrified
tears.
The camera captures the entire chaotic scene in high definition. The chat goes nuclear:
That is way out of line!]
Throwing things at a kid? Shows exactly what kind of person she is.]
The contrast between her and Tara is insane.]
Kick Jade off the show! We can’t stand this obnoxious behavior!]
Jade is on the verge of a total meltdown. Why does everything keep going wrong? She silently prays the cameras missed the incident, but the damage is already done. Customers actively avoid her side of the stall, eaving her completely isolated.
By contrast, Tara sells out her entire inventory. A line of stragglers still waits just to watch her expertly filet the last catches of the day. The local stall owner gives her a thumbs-up. “Kid, your knife skills are better than mine!”
Tara wipes a bead of sweat from her forehead with the back of her wrist and flashes a brilliant smile. “You flatter me. I’m just an amateur.”
That simple, radiant smile sends a shockwave through the viewers:
[Help! How does she look so cool just wiping off sweat?!]
[The duality! She’s gorgeous but absolutely lethal with a knife!]
