"Who says I'm trying to go back to Hollywood?" Jade fires back, her tone dripping with defiance. "I'm doing this show for the Dennis Group! It is entirely relevant to our corporate interests. Why does Tara get to parade around on television while I sit on the sidelines?"
She crosses her arms, nursing her bruised ego. "Her new show is a direct partnership with the company. I just want to prove I'm better than her on national television. It has nothing to do with launching a comeback." Deep down, Jade knows it is a lie; she desperately craves her celebrity status. Earning a spot on this roster required heavy corporate maneuvering from the Dennis executives.
Jovani’s rigid posture softens slightly at the explanation. "If that is truly your angle, then you are finally showing some strategic sense. But mastering pharmaceutical R&D takes years, not weeks. It is just a television show. Do not overexert yourself. We will stick to the Neural-Link Earpiece. I will monitor the live feed and feed you the exact chemical breakdowns and crisis solutions."
Jade immediately scoffs. "You promised me that last time, and what happened? The signal got jammed right in the middle of a board meeting."
"This is a massive broadcast production," Jovani counters smoothly. "There will be dozens of cameras and communication arrays on set. If Tara dares to activate a military-grade signal jammer, she will fry the entire production crew's equipment. She wouldn't risk destroying her own show just to block your earpiece."
Jade pauses, letting the logic sink in. Her mother is right. A localized jammer works in a closed boardroom, but on a sprawling reality set, wiping out the frequencies would shut down the entire production. "Okay, that makes sense."
