Tricia makes a fair point. They really should thank the gossip rags for the free marketing campaign. To Tara, these rumors are completely harmless. She never cares about the public's opinion of her. Back when she violently cut ties with the Dennis family, the media spun countless wild stories, and she hadn't felt a single ripple of emotion. This minor scandal is practically a joke.
"Just keep training them," Tara instructs smoothly. "Find them some decent exposure and book a few variety shows to test the waters. I have too much on my plate to handle them directly right now."
"You got it," Tricia chirps. They walk toward the company entrance together. Tricia fully intends to drag Tara out for dinner to gossip and laugh about the absurd casting couch rumors.
But before Tricia can speak, she spots a limited-edition luxury car idling by the curb. The license plate is a dead giveaway of the owner's terrifying wealth and status. Tricia instantly knows who it belongs to.
"Tara, I just remembered I have a massive emergency. Gotta run, bye!" Tricia blurts out, sprinting away before Tara can even respond.
"What emergency?" Tara calls after her, completely baffled. They were supposed to meet Bianca for dinner. Why is she running for her life?
When Tara turns and recognizes the sleek vehicle, it all makes sense. The door opens, and Danny steps out, looking as strikingly handsome and predatory as ever.
"What are you doing here?" she asks.
Danny gives her a dramatic, injured look. "You are out here hunting for gorgeous young guys. I figured if I didn't show up, you would forget what I look like. I suddenly feel so old."
Danny quickly blocks her path. "I am just joking." He leans in, a playful glint in his eye. "But calling me paranoid... that sounds a lot like something a girlfriend would say."
Tara bristles, her irritation spiking just when she thought he was acting normal. "Why are you even here? If you don't have a real reason, I am leaving. I am busy."
"Alright, alright, I am sorry," Danny backtracks immediately, terrified he has genuinely angered her. "No more jokes. Just let me drop you off."
Seeing his instant surrender, Tara softens and gives him the address, settling into the plush leather seat. A part of her regrets snapping at him. Normally, she would just brush off a joke like that, but lately, her reactions around him feel entirely out of her control.
