Tara realizes she is being hyper-sensitive, a strange feeling she can't quite shake off. Meanwhile, Danny sits behind the wheel, struck by the sudden realization that he is dangerously close to becoming a completely whipped husband. If he is this terrified of upsetting her now, what will happen in the future? He makes a mental note to regain his dominance next time.
They drive in silence, both lost in their own complicated thoughts.
When they arrive at the restaurant, Tara hesitates before unbuckling her seatbelt.
"By the way," Danny says, breaking the silence. "The National Institute of Pharmaceutical Research is holding an open recruitment. Are you interested? I can write you a recommendation letter."
He knows how brilliant she is with medicine and research. Letting her talent languish solely within the Dennis Group feels like a tragic waste. He desperately wants to see her shine in her true element.
"How exactly do you have a recommendation slot?" Tara arches an eyebrow. The Institute is an elite, heavily guarded federal fortress. Only the highest-ranking core members have the authority to recommend anyone.
"My mother works there. She has a quota, but she is too lazy to deal with it, so she dumped it on me," Danny explains smoothly. "Obviously, I cannot just hand it to some random person."
