The more Jade thinks about it, the angrier she gets. A suffocating wave of despair and fury washes over her as she watches Danny shield Tara. Seeing Tara treated like an absolute treasure makes Jade want to scream.

"So you're Jade's aunt?" Tara chimes in, realizing she can't let Danny have all the fun. It's time for a tag-team beatdown. "I had no idea she even had extended family. With the way she acts, you'd think her entire bloodline was wiped out. She certainly never visits her real relatives."

"Tara, how can you say something so awful?" Jade's eyes immediately well up with tears.

Seeing her distress, Nikolai's protective instincts kick into overdrive. "Tara, what is wrong with you?" he barks. "Where are your manners?"

"Am I wrong?" Tara shoots back. "For years, she's paraded around the Dennis estate acting like a tragic orphan forced to walk on eggshells. But hey, it's great that she actually has family! She can pack her bags and go live with her aunt. After all, she's always crying about wanting to leave to make room for me."

Tara is beyond sick of Jade's endless victim routine. Every time the wind blows, Jade bursts into tears, acting as though the whole world is bullying her. She constantly threatens to move out. Now she finally has a perfectly valid excuse to get the hell out.

"That's not what I meant!" Jade stammers, immediately realizing she has trapped herself.

"It's never what you mean," Tara scoffs. "So what exactly do you mean?" She watches Jade with pure amusement. Jade loves to play the victim, but her acting skills are seriously lacking. The only idiots who still fall for her routine are the Dennis brothers.
