The Scorned Heiress: No More Mercy novel Chapter 565

Danny arches a brow, a smirk playing on his lips. "Oh? Wasn't her secret lover your biological father?"

"No, no, no." Tara wags her index finger at him before leaning in with a conspiratorial whisper. "Charles admitted to me personally that Jade isn't his daughter. I used to think she was his, considering the secret paternity test they ran back then seemingly confirmed it."

Not only had there been a paternity test, but Jovani had intentionally orchestrated a massive illusion to convince everyone the girl belonged to the Dennis bloodline. Her ultimate goal is painfully obvious: to swallow the Dennis family whole, piece by piece. With that kind of blind confidence, forging a flawless paternity test is child's play for her. Unfortunately for Jovani, Charles saw right through her schemes. Instead of exposing her, he simply played along.

Things are getting incredibly interesting.

Out of everyone involved, Deanna is likely the only one still completely in the dark, too naive to even suspect a thing.

The fact that Tara willingly shares such deeply guarded secrets fills Danny with a profound sense of warmth. The invisible walls between them are crumbling, pulling them closer together by the second.

"So, based on what you're saying, they really might be tied to Gregory," Danny muses.

"I looked closely. Jade actually shares quite a few facial features with Bonnie," Tara notes.

If Jovani's true lover is Gregory, then Bonnie and Jade are half-sisters. Yet, mysteriously, neither of them bears much resemblance to Gregory himself.

"If Jade doesn't look like Gregory, and she doesn't look like Jovani, who exactly does she take after?"

This is the missing puzzle piece that constantly plagues Tara's mind. It prevents her from completely locking in the theory about Gregory. Bonnie doesn't resemble her father, which means she likely takes after her mother—a woman Tara has never met, making it impossible to confirm. But Jade doesn't look like either of her supposed parents. Whose genetics did she inherit? Or are they looking at this entirely wrong? Is Gregory just a convenient shield, and they have no real connection to him at all?

"Didn't they say that woman got plastic surgery? With modern technology, you can practically swap faces. If she altered her appearance completely, it wouldn't be surprising if they don't look alike anymore," Danny points out.
