Deanna's thoughts spiral out of control. She is fully convinced Tara is intentionally refusing to help, terrified of losing her newfound status in the family.

"Deanna, how can you think so poorly of your own daughter? She must have her reasons!" Eleanor snaps, unable to listen to another word of it.

It is no wonder their mother-daughter relationship is in absolute ruins. If Deanna constantly second-guesses and assumes the worst of her own child, how could they ever be close?

"Am I wrong?" Deanna feels deeply wronged. "Tara, tell me, what will it take for you to help your brothers and your father? To help Dennis Group?"

To Deanna, this is perfectly logical. Why can't Tara just learn a thing or two from Jade? Tara's words are always so cold and unyielding, utterly devoid of any familial warmth. If Jade were in this position, she would undoubtedly put her brothers first and do everything in her power to elevate Dennis Group.

"I made myself perfectly clear earlier," Tara says smoothly. "I'm not repeating it."

"So you just refuse to help! You're terrified your brothers will steal your position!"

"I can’t change what you think," Tara replies, crossing her arms with a nonchalant shrug.

When she first returned to the Dennis family, she actually cared about their opinions. She used to worry they would think badly of her. Back then, she would have anxiously explained herself to clear the air. But she is no longer that girl. Their accusations and dramatic antics don't affect her in the slightest.
