The Scorned Heiress: No More Mercy novel Chapter 581

"Hunter, have Wilson prepare lunch. I've already put together a rough menu, and he knows how to handle it." Katie's words barely settle before the butler glances over at Danny.

Catching Danny's subtle look, Hunter immediately understands the assignment. He turns back to Katie. "I am sorry, Mrs. Calhoun. Wilson called in sick earlier. He will not be able to cook today."

Katie is genuinely taken aback by the sudden news. "What? He called in sick? That makes no sense. He was full of energy this morning, running ten laps around the yard for his morning workout."

"Well, he probably pushed himself too hard and overdid it," Hunter replies smoothly.

"That is impossible. He runs like that every single day," Katie says, her suspicion growing. The Calhoun family's private chef is not just a cook; he is a senior nutritionist who takes impeccable care of his health. There is no way a standard workout took him down. Still, sickness is unpredictable. But with the chef out of commission, who is going to cook? More importantly, Tara is visiting today. They cannot exactly feed her takeout.

"Should we transfer Chef Leonard over from the main estate?" Katie suggests.

"There is no need for that. I will cook," Danny interjects casually.

"What? You want to cook?" Katie gasps.

"You know how to cook?" Even Tara is visibly surprised.
