The Scorned Heiress: No More Mercy novel Chapter 619

"Of course, Uncle," Julianna replies smoothly, stepping up to the bedside.

She picks up the half-empty vial, tilting it to observe the liquid before bringing it to her nose. She sniffs. She frowns. She sniffs again. Minutes tick by, and yet, her mind draws an absolute blank.

"Well?" Gregory presses. "Is there an issue with the formula?" Considering his mother began vomiting blood immediately after ingesting it, his suspicion is entirely justified.

The direct question makes Julianna's stomach knot with panic. She has absolutely no idea what is in this vial. The liquid gives off a rich, herbal fragrance intertwined with a bizarre, indescribable undertone. The fluid itself is an unsettling, inky black with a faint, iridescent purple sheen. It looks incredibly complex, clearly forged using highly unorthodox methods and rare ingredients.

"Miss Sinclair, your uncle asked you a question," Tara says, her tone light and thoroughly unbothered. She makes no move to hide her proprietary blend. In fact, she is deeply amused, genuinely curious to see if the supposed prodigy can decipher even a fraction of it. "Why don't you enlighten everyone with the exact recipe?"

"I..." Julianna's perfectly painted lips part, but nothing comes out.

Assuming her sister is just being polite, Bonnie urges her on. "Don't hold back because of her, Julianna! If there's poison in there, say it loud and clear!"

Unfortunately, Julianna still has nothing to say.

"Yeah? Are you going to be bold and tell us what you found?" Tara asks, a mocking smile playing on her lips. She pauses, letting the silence stretch before adding, "Don't tell me you actually can't identify a single thing?"
