The Scorned Heiress: No More Mercy novel Chapter 639

Gavin nods without a second of hesitation, trusting her implicitly.

Tara smiles, gently ruffling his hair. He really is the sweetest kid.

She systematically mists his arms, his legs, his face, and even his torso. But aside from making his skin look a bit dewy, absolutely nothing happens.

Refusing to give up, Tara makes Danny turn the boy around so she can spray his back and hips. Still nothing.

"Did I guess wrong?" Tara mutters to herself, her brow furrowing. "Is he really not a test subject? That makes no sense."

"Could they have used a different chemical compound to hide the marks?" Danny suggests quietly, fully aware of exactly what she is looking for.

"This is a highly specialized reactive formula. If the mark is there, this will force it to the surface," Tara insists.

Out of sheer stubbornness, she lifts his foot and sprays the sole, not truly expecting a result.

But slowly, a dark, intricate totem begins to materialize against his skin.

It is incredibly similar to the mark she saw on Jovani, though with slight variations. But the style, the ink, the methodology—it is undeniably the work of the same syndicate.

"I knew it!" Tara breathes, her eyes turning glacial.

Moving quickly to ensure the boy's handlers won't notice, she pulls out a second neutralizer spray and coats the sole of his foot, forcing the dark ink to fade back into absolute invisibility.
