"Your outfit and makeup are absolutely flawless. I hope I can learn a thing or two from you in the future," Jovani says smoothly, her hand casually brushing against her ear.
She specifically chose a striking, vibrant red jewelry set for today. Deanna, with her sharp eye for luxury, instantly notices that the pieces are far from ordinary.
"Your styling is quite nice as well," Deanna notes, her gaze lingering on the gems. "Those earrings and the matching necklace... they're from the French royal designer, Mr. Winston, aren't they?"
"Oh my, you have such an incredible eye! You noticed right away. How impressive!" Jovani feigns astonishment, intentionally touching her earring again to ensure Deanna gets a perfect look at it.
"Well, it's an exclusive design by him. A one-of-a-kind piece with absolutely no replicas. Naturally, it leaves a strong impression," Deanna states matter-of-factly. She sees no reason to hide her knowledge; it only highlights her refined taste and status in the fashion world.
In truth, Deanna had spotted this exact jewelry set months ago. She planned to wear it for her upcoming extravagant birthday party and had specifically demanded that Charles get it for her. To her immense disappointment, Charles came home and told her someone else had already snatched it up. She never expected to see it draped on the neck of this random woman.
"Yes, exactly," Jovani says, flashing a shy, brilliantly blissful smile. "My lover gave it to me for my birthday. He said it represents his promise to love only me in this lifetime. Honestly, I told him not to bother. As long as our connection is strong, I don't really need grand gestures. But he insisted on spoiling me. I really don't know what to do with him sometimes."
"Your husband certainly treats you well," Deanna replies with a tight, dismissive smile.
While Deanna loves subtly showing off her own perfect marriage, she absolutely doesn’t have time listening to other women brag about theirs. Especially a nobody who doesn't even rank in the elite socialite hierarchy. Deanna is convinced the woman is just some wealthy man's kept mistress, flaunting herself like a cheap homewrecker.
