The Scorned Heiress: No More Mercy novel Chapter 646

Deanna convinces herself that her recent muscle weakness is simply due to stress. She has been constantly worrying about the Dennis Group's issues, and with Charles frequently away on business, she assumes poor sleep and low energy are the culprits.

"I'm perfectly fine. There won't be a next time. Thank you," Deanna says coldly. She turns on her heel and walks away briskly, completely dismissing the woman. Even her 'thank you' lacks an ounce of sincerity.

Watching Deanna's arrogant, retreating figure, Jovani's eyes narrow with dark satisfaction.

"Hmph, soon enough, you'll be sobbing and thoroughly humiliated in front of every elite wife in this city. You'll never be able to hold your head up again!" she mutters, her gaze dripping with calculating malice.

Her mission accomplished, Jovani sees no point in wasting another minute here. She steps out of the restroom, briefly finds Mrs. Mack to excuse herself, and leaves the party.

A tea party? Please. It's just a bunch of miserable hags desperately trying to out-flaunt each other, she scoffs internally.

Back at her own residence, Jovani casually pours herself a glass of premium red wine. Sipping it in the quiet comfort of her home is infinitely better than enduring that agonizingly dull gathering.

She then pulls out her phone and unleashes a barrage of calls and texts to Charles. Acting the part of a fragile, lovesick woman, she whines about how desperately she misses him and begs him to come over tonight.

This tactic never fails. No matter how busy Charles is, she knows he will drop everything to be with her.
