The Scorned Heiress: No More Mercy novel Chapter 714

"Who gave you that report? We already did a paternity test years ago!" Jovani argues, her voice rising in pitch. "Someone is obviously trying to drive a wedge between us. What if your precious wife paid someone to forge a fake report because she's jealous of our love? Do you really trust her over me?"

Jovani is spiraling. She refuses to accept that the man she has flawlessly puppeted for decades has snapped out of his trance overnight.

At the mention of Deanna, a dangerous, murderous shadow crosses Charles's face.

"You and Jade took turns terrorizing Deanna until her health broke. Don't think for a second I don't know about that," Charles snarls, his patience evaporating. "And drop the devoted lover routine. You and I both know we've never been intimate. Every time we supposedly slept together, you drugged me with experimental narcotics. You fabricated my memories so I'd believe we were having an affair. I've known the truth the entire time."

The words hit Jovani like a physical blow. Her eyes widen in sheer horror, her jaw going slack.

He knows. He has always known.

The realization is terrifying. This man has maintained a flawless, loving facade for years, never once letting his true awareness slip. His self-control is inhuman. But if he knew she was a fraud all along, why did he play along?

"You... you knew everything?" she breathes.

"What do you think?" Charles mocks.
