"Benny, you're under arrest for multiple charges of embezzlement, money laundering, and corporate fraud. You have the right to remain silent," the lead officer barks, securing the handcuffs.
"No! Wait! I didn't do anything!" Benny screams, thrashing wildly, but his pleas fall on deaf ears.
Simultaneously, a squad car pulls up to the Dennis estate to arrest Benny's wife. Now that the betrayal is exposed, Charles is taking no chances. He isn't just firing them—he is making sure they rot in prison so they can never be weaponized against his wife and sons again. Since Charles can't guarantee he'll be around to protect his family much longer, this is the only way to ensure their safety.
The moment the police cruisers pull out of the garage, Charles's phone buzzes. It's Jovani. Jade must have just delivered the news.
"Charles, what on earth is going on?" Jovani wails the second he answers, her voice thick with exaggerated, theatrical sobs. "Jade is our daughter! How could you do this to her? She's an innocent child. If you're angry with me, punish me, but don't take it out on our baby!"
"Really?" Charles asks flatly, shedding his usual affectionate tone. "Then I suppose you also want to talk about my driver. You wouldn't happen to know anything about that, would you?"
Jovani's breath catches in her throat. Her heart hammers against her ribs. How does he know? Did Benny rat her out? No, that's impossible. She paid him enough to live like a king for the rest of his life. He wouldn't be stupid enough to confess.
"Charles, I think there's a huge misunderstanding," Jovani says, her voice trembling slightly. "Let's meet and talk about this in person. I can't explain it over the phone."
She desperately needs to buy time. Once she sees him, she can use her usual feminine wiles and manipulation tactics to pacify him. She hangs up, pacing her living room to formulate a lie.
