Chapter 72
Chapter 72
I can’t breathe. This man knows exactly what he’s doing,” Bianca gasps, clutching her chest
Up in the luxurious second-floor suites, Luke hears the deafening roar of the crowd and glances down at the first tier. Suddenly, a familiar silhouette in the VIP section catches his eye. He blinks in disbelief. “Danny, tell me I’m not hallucinating. I think I just saw your girl
“What are you talking about?” Danny asks, his voice laced with irritation. Tara is supposed to be looking after her aunt right now. There is no way she is at a pop concert. He only agreed to come tonight because Luke dragged him out to kill time with a few drinks.
Seeing Danny’s skepticism, Luke zooms in with his phone, records a crisp video, and shoves it in his friend’s face. “Take a look. Am I making things up?”
Danny frowns at the shrill screams echoing from the phone’s speaker, but a second later, his gaze locks onto the elegant figure in the front row. The woman is staring unblinkingly at the half-naked pop star thrashing around on stage.
Danny snatches the phone, bringing it closer. It is Tara.
Who knew she had this kind of hobby? Ogling sweaty men doing stripteases? He always thought of her as composed and untouchable, yet here she is, her eyes practically glued to the singer’s torso.
Danny’s expression turns instantly frigid. His long fingers tighten around his crystal whiskey glass, his knuckles turning white.
On stage, Jaden grinds his hips to the heavy bass, sweat dripping down his chiseled stomach, drawing another wave of hysterical screams.
“Well, well. Looks like Tara is quite the fan,” Luke drawls, thoroughly enjoying the show. “Look
how focused she is.”
Danny abruptly stands up, his jaw clenched tight. “I’m going out for some air.”
Luke bites his lip to hold back a laugh. “Sure you are.”
Air? In a packed arena of screaming fans? Yeah, right.
Radiating a suffocating chill that screams do not approach, Danny strides out of the suite He steps up to the second-floor railing, peering down at Tara like a predator watching its prey. Pulling out his phone, he shoots her a text.
Down in the crowd, Tara feels her phone buzz.
Where are you?
She hesitates, then types: At a concert.
Chapter 72
The reply is instantaneous. Whose?
Tara: …Jaden’s.
The typing bubble pops up, lingers for a painfully long fifteen seconds, and disappears, replaced by a single word: Oh.
Tara furrows her brow, totally baffled. Just as she is about to lock her screen, another message drops.
Is his body really that good?
Tara freezes. She looks up at Jaden, who is currently basking in the spotlight, then back down at her phone. She has absolutely no idea how to answer that.
Bianca leans over, catching a glimpse of the screen. Her eyes go wide. “Danny?”
Tara frantically locks her phone, her cheeks burning. “Stop snooping!”
