Alec and Nikolai exchange a look, mirroring each other's confusion.

"The business?" Alec presses. "But she's planning to bring in Bianca and other professionals to manage things. She hasn't even considered letting us help."

"Exactly. That's why we aren't going to interfere with her work. Instead..." Jake pauses, his gaze darkening with determination. "We're going to show her we've changed. Not with empty words, but with real action. Before, we were useless. We only cared about our own immediate interests and how much we could steal from her.
