Danny is usually buried in work, but whenever he is at her place, he waits on her hand and foot. He constantly feeds her, monitors her rest, and looks like he is fully prepared to carry her to the bathroom if she lets him.
"Doctors are notoriously bad at treating themselves. It's like how a psychic can't predict their own future," Danny replies, entirely unapologetic.
"I don't know about other doctors, but I'm pretty sure I can manage a standard cold," Tara says, laughing in exasperation.
"Just treat this as an opportunity for me to earn some boyfriend points," Danny says, ignoring her protests as he effortlessly scoops her up into his arms.
"What are you doing?"
"You're still recovering. I'm carrying you to the dining table."
Without missing a beat, he strides toward the dining room with her in his arms. She hasn't been into the office for the past couple of days, choosing to rest at home. With Bianca and Coen holding down the fort at work, she can actually afford the downtime. But Danny seems to have found an excuse to slack off, spending more than half his day lounging around her house. Unless there is an absolute emergency, he is practically glued to her side.
Actually, he isn't slacking off at all. He is constantly moving—cooking, spoon-feeding her meals, handing over her medication, and giving her massages. He even places her slippers perfectly by the bed before her feet touch the floor. Though Tara constantly teases him about being clingy, her heart melts at every small gesture.
It is easy to share the good times, but true partnership is tested in the mundane and difficult moments. Through these tiny details, she sees that this seemingly aloof, untouchable billionaire is actually an incredibly warm, devoted man. She feels endlessly lucky to have met him, understood him, and fallen in love with him.
After dinner, Danny dives back into his work while Tara keeps busy in her room. Originally, he claimed he was just staying over for a few days, but now he clearly has zero intention of ever leaving. Tara has grown completely used to his presence. Since they made their relationship official, she doesn't want him to leave anyway. She even cleared out a study for him. He has truly mastered the art of balancing a corporate empire with a full-time romance.
While Danny is reviewing documents in the study, his phone suddenly rings.
