"I really feel like I've met him somewhere before. Or maybe I lost a chunk of my memory and completely forgot about him, and now we're reuniting! When I was abroad, didn't I have a gap in my memory? Maybe it was a memory involving a man! No! It's selective amnesia, definitely triggered by true love and a man!"
The more Bianca speaks, the more dramatic she gets, forcing Tara to cut her off. "Stop, stop, stop!"
"You don't have selective amnesia. You just caught a nasty fever during the pandemic and were delirious for a while. You're perfectly fine now, and you didn't forget anyone. Also, please stop binge-watching so many brainless soap operas. You're blurring the lines between fiction and reality."
Tara grabs Bianca by the shoulders and shakes her vigorously, hoping to snap her back to the real world before she fully morphs into a drama protagonist. This girl doesn't have many sophisticated hobbies, but she sure has plenty of mindless obsessions. Binge-watching shows and swooning over handsome men are at the top of the list. She will stay up all night devouring modern romances, historical dramas, and fantasy epics. Sometimes, Tara genuinely envies Bianca's carefree, drama-filled life. What else can she do?
While shaking her friend, Tara sighs internally. Bianca's brain operates on a completely different frequency. Normal people watch shows for entertainment; Bianca watches them and decides she is the leading lady trapped in a melodramatic script.
"Ahem, alright, I lost my composure. My apologies," Bianca says, awkwardly scratching her head. "By the way, what did you come find me for?" she asks.
"To ask you to lunch, obviously. What else?"
Did she think she came to discuss romance, stalk handsome men, or swoon together?
"Of course! Let me just ask Coen if he's free to join us."
Finding the perfect excuse to approach him, Bianca shoots into his office like an arrow. She is wearing a figure-hugging dress today and has already strutted past him like a runway model several times, but the blind fool completely ignored her. Now, she finally has a legitimate reason to waltz right in.
