The Scorned Heiress: No More Mercy novel Chapter 839

"Well..." Bianca takes tiny, measured steps toward his desk, clasping her hands behind her back and leaning forward slightly, striving to look both sincere and utterly innocent. "Tara wanted to take me out for lunch, and I figured the more the merrier. So, I wanted to see if you were free to join us? We could consider it... um... a celebration for our recent project's success?"

She deliberately avoids mentioning that it was her idea, using Tara as a shield to make it seem far more natural.

Coen's gaze lingers on her face for a few seconds. He easily sees through her little scheme. The corners of his lips twitch upward ever so slightly before returning to his usual cool indifference.

"Sorry, I already have plans."

"Plans? With who? A man or a woman?"

That last part is the only detail that truly matters.

"No comment," he replies coolly.

"You just love acting tough, don't you? Hmph." Bianca stomps her foot and storms out of the office in a huff.

Watching her retreating figure, which resembles an angry cat with its fur puffed up, Coen can't help but smirk and shake his head helplessly.

Storming out of the office, Bianca spots Tara sitting in the waiting area, scrolling through her phone with a sickeningly sweet smile on her face. It is painfully obvious who she is texting.

"Tara, are you intentionally trying to rub it in? Have you looked in a mirror? Do you see that syrupy expression on your face?"

It is such a harsh contrast to her own miserable love life.

"Ahem, is it really that obvious?" Tara asks, a bit embarrassed. "So? Is VP Traller joining us?"

"Let's see him regret turning down lunch with me! I'm going to blow up his phone!"

Bianca says, sending the best photos directly to his messages, making sure he knows that turning down a meal with a gorgeous woman is a tragic mistake.

"Miss Turner, may I eat now?" Tara asks, thoroughly amused.

As her best friend, she had anticipated this exact level of drama.

"Do you think VP Traller regrets giving you his personal number? If you keep spamming him like this, he might just block you in a few days."

Tara glances at the messages Bianca is sending. It clearly isn't her first time pulling this stunt.
