The Scorned Heiress: No More Mercy novel Chapter 85

Chapter 85

Chapter 85

Less than twenty minutes later, the screech of tires tears through the silence outside Miller’s Creek Warehouse.

The sharp click of high heels against gravel echoes through the empty lot, accompanied by a woman’s excited, venomous whisper. “Tara, you finally fell right into my hands…”

The heavy metal door is shoved open, and Jade steps inside, sporting ten-inch Jimmy Choos and a triumphant smirk. But as her eyes adjust to the dim light, she sees nothing but a rotting sofa. The space is completely empty.

Where is she?

Suddenly, the crude, sleazy laughter of several men echoes from the back of the warehouse.

“This job is a goldmine. Once that chick gets dropped off, we’re gonna have ourselves a real good time.”

“I heard she’s a high-society heiress. Bet her skin is soft as silk.”

“Hell yeah, I can’t wait. Boss gets the first taste!”

Hearing the disgusting exchange, a sickening wave of dread washes over Jade.

Damn it! What went wrong?

These must be the thugs Shane hired, but if they are here, where the hell is Tara? Didn’t that useless brat Holly say she had her tied up? Where did she go?

Panic sets in. If these men come out and mistake her for Tara, what is she supposed to do?

Clinging to her last shred of sanity, Jade immediately pulls out her phone and drops her location pin in a group chat with Jake, Nikolai, Alec, and Evan, attaching a frantic voice note: “Help me!”

She has no idea who will see it first, but she is completely out of options. She turns on her heel, desperate to sprint out of the warehouse.

But she is too late.

The inner door kicks open with a deafening crash, and three massive, heavily tattooed men step into the main room. The leader, a scarred brute named Butch, locks eyes with Jade. His face lights up with a sickening grin.

“Well, well, looks like our delivery arrived early. Damn, she really is a gorgeous piece of work.”

His eyes rake over Jade’s body, practically drooling.

Jade forces herself to stand tall, taking a slow step back. “You have the wrong person! I am Jade Dennis! I’m not Tara!”

She desperately tries to stall for time, praying these animals have enough brain cells to realize they are making a massive mistake.

Butch sneers, stalking toward her. “I don’t care who you are, sweetheart. You walked through that door, and you aren’t leaving in one piece! It’s time to show the boys a good time.”

Jade panics, grabbing a rusted iron pipe off the ground. “Stay back! My brothers are on their way!”

“Ha! The little rich girl’s got claws. I love it!” Butch lunges, snatching the pipe out of her hands with ease before grabbing the collar of her designer dress.

Jade thrashes wildly. “No! You idiots have it all wrong! You’re supposed to be attacking Tara, not me! Stop it!”

Smack!

A brutal backhand sends Jade crashing to the concrete. The blinding pain makes her vision swim.

These bastards! It hurts so much!

Butch grabs her by the jaw, his grip like a vice. “Shut up, you stupid bitch! Keep fighting and I’ll make you beg for mercy!”

Sprawled on the filthy floor, one side of her face already swelling violently, Jade screams desperately. “You work for Shane! You’re supposed to kidnap Tara! I’m the one who paid you! How can you do this to me… Ahhhhh!”

Before she can finish, a fist winds into her hair, yanking her head back as a bloodcurdling scream rips from her throat.

Standing quietly just outside the warehouse walls, Tara listens to the horrifying screams, a cold sneer mile playing on her lips.

Jade indeed orchestrated the entire thing. But karma never misses a target.

“You’ve plotted against me so many times, Jade. It’s about time you got a taste of your own medicine,” Tara murmurs, her eyes completely devoid of sympathy.

Having already sent Holly away, Tara turns her back on the warehouse and walks to her car, leaving Jade’s agonizing shrieks echoing into the night.
