After the way he treated you for Jade, he seriously thinks he can come crawling back? Does he think you're a recycling bin for his toxic waste? Absolutely not. Tara reaches out and catches her friend's arm, offering a calming smile. "Don't be impulsive. Getting angry over a guy like him is a waste of your energy. He sent flowers, I threw them in the trash. That's the end of it. If you go marching over to confront him, it'll only inflate his ego and make him think he actually matters to me."

Her voice is perfectly steady, completely devoid of emotion. She knows exactly how deep Evan's narcissism runs. A reaction is exactly what he wants.

Bianca lets herself be pulled back into the chair, though her chest is still heaving with indignation. "I just can't stand that smug, self-righteous look on his face!" She grabs the water glass off the desk and downs half of it, trying to extinguish her fury. "And Jade is just as bad. Those two deserve each other. A match made in hell!"

Tara pats her hand gently. "Breathe. A stray dog barking isn't worth Ms. Turner losing her temper."

Seeing Tara's absolute indifference finally cools Bianca's rage. She lets out a huff. "You're right. Letting a loser like that ruin my day is stupid. Come on, I'm taking you out for an amazing dinner. Consider it a cleanse to celebrate that piece of trash finally being out of our lives!"

Tara laughs. "Alright, but I'm paying. Consider it a thank you to my partner in crime for always having my back."
