Chapter 164
Nora wiped her tears and looked at Natalie. “Natalie, my dad will be okay, right?”
She looked at Natalie, her eyes filled with anxious hope.
‘I don’t even know why I’m asking Natalie,’ Nora thought. ‘She’s not a doctor, but somehow, if she says everything will be fine. then it really will be fine.’
Just sitting there with Natalie gave her a sense of security she couldn’t explain.
Natalie nodded. “Don’t worry, nothing bad will happen.”
Charles stood with his hands clasped in front of him, listening to their conversation and blinking.
‘Of course he’ll be fine. This is Ms. Gardener from Evergarden. Even the Grim Reaper couldn’t take him from her, hé thought.
If he’d known Natalie was the Mitchell family’s long-lost heiress, he would’ve been all over helping out way sooner.
‘What a blunder,’ he thought.
But trading a few favors for a free treatment from Ms. Gardener? That was a deal that couldn’t be beat.
Natalie glanced at the others across from her, lips curving into a gentle smile. “Now you don’t have to worry anymore. Can you all eat in peace now?”
Charlotte nodded eagerly, finally picking up her cup and taking a sip of her vegetable soup.
At this point, eating was all they could do. Everything else, whether it was doable or not, Nat had already arranged for them.
Charlotte never would’ve guessed that her daughter, who always seemed so cool and collected, calm and reserved, could be so quick and capable when things got tough.
Honestly, all the adults in the room, most of them older than Natalie, weren’t even half as steady or composed as she was.
The others watched Natalie sitting there, radiating that leader vibe and handling everything like a pro. She had it all under control, and they couldn’t help but be a little dazed just watching her.
It wasn’t until she spoke that everyone snapped back to reality, their eyes full of amazement.
Nora was the first to grab her lunchbox and dig in. As soon as Evelyn heard there was a chance her leg could be saved, she instantly felt a surge of hope and started to cheer up.
Seeing this, Natalie took a sip of water and gestured for Charles and the others to head out, leaving only Larkin behind.
Blake couldn’t help but ask, seeing how respectfully everyone treated Natalie. “Natalie, where did you manage to find all these experts so quickly?”
He glanced over at Larkin, who was quietly standing to the side.
“And… this is the Deputy Chief of Evergarden,” he added.
The others, hearing Blake’s question, grew just as curious. Without making a fuss, they set down their forks and looked over at Natalie.
Natalie replied to Blondie’s real-time update and then looked up.

Chapter 164
“Charles was the one who found the experts. I just asked him to look into it,” she said, sounding totally relaxed, like it was ne big deal at all.
She sounded so laid-back, as if this was nothing out of the ordinary.
“Charles knows way more people than I do. The kind of people he can get on the phone with one call. I’d have to dial te times and still might not find anyone,” she added.
She blinked and spread her hands, like it was the most natural thing ever. “He made the calls, the experts showed up, and that’s all there is to it.
“I just arranged transportation for them so they could get to the hospital in no time.”
Ethan and William exchanged a look, both seeing surprise in each other’s eyes.
‘So it wasn’t Natalie who knew those experts, it was Charles,’ Ethan realized.
‘But why would Charles go out of his way to help her?’ William wondered.
Charles, the director of St. Alden Medical Center, was a heavyweight in the medical world. He had the numbers of the best doctors from every province saved in his phone, but he wasn’t the type to call in favors lightly.
Every time he made a call, he owed someone a favor. One call, one favor; ten calls, ten favors. And favors are the hardest thing to pay back.
Even if he’d known the Mitchell family was here from the start, he wouldn’t have rushed to connect them with top experts from all over. Favors like that are never easy to return.
Everything happened so suddenly, they were caught off guard and didn’t even think to ask Charles for help. They just scrambled to find contacts on their own.
Sure, they could reach out to people too, but compared to Charles’s connections, they were definitely slower.
Besides, seeing how deferential Charles was to Natalie a moment ago, they’d never seen him act so polite to anyone else in their lives.
Natalie’s phone buzzed with a call from Blondie. She got up and walked out, nodding at Larkin as she left. “Go ahead and have a seat.”
Lucas suddenly realized Larkin was still standing there. Feeling a bit sheepish for forgetting his manners in his excitement, he hurried over to hand Larkin a glass of water.
“Larkin, please, have a seat!” Lucas said, sounding apologetic.
Larkin nodded, took the glass, and sat down in the chair next to him. “Thank you.”
Andrew looked at Larkin, keeping his manners and a polite smile, but deep down, he was stunned. He could hardly believe what he was seeing.
“Larkin, I honestly never thought Evergarden would actually come to treat my uncle. This is a huge honor for us. We know how things work with Evergarden. Just say the word, whatever your price is, we’ll pay it!” Andrew said.
Just earlier, he’d already sent people to try and get in touch with Evergarden, and even posted a bounty on the Obsidian Net.
But there just wasn’t enough time, and honestly, the chances of finding them were next to nothing. Evergarden always did things their own way. No one could ever predict their moves.
And yet, before he could even wrap his head around it, someone from Evergarden actually showed up. ‘Guess Natalie really does have some serious connections, Andrew thought.

Chapter 164
Larkin’s usually cool expression softened with a rare smile. “You’re too kind. There’s no charge for this treatment
“Wait, what?” Andrew blurted out, completely caught off guard.
Everyone in the room froze, wondering if they’d just heard that right.
‘No charge?’ Andrew thought, his mind reeling.
‘Evergarden’s actually treating someone… and not charging?’ The whole room was in disbelief.
