Chapter 205 Hog What’s Mine

Chapter 205 Hog What’s Mine

Henry probably heard about it from Rosie, so he gave her a plant that was easy to take care of.

Even though the Ghost Rosk plant was pretty pricey, it was just as easy to keep alive as a cactus.

He’d been taking care of it for over half a month himself, just so he could give her a plant she couldn’t possibly He figured the thing that made her feel the least accomplished was probably killing that cactus.

He wasn’t giving her this plant to prove she could keep it alive.

He just wanted her to know that from now on, she didn’t have to try so hard to keep anything going. As long as he’d be like this plant, always there, steady and reliable, by her side for the long haul.

Natalie looked away. Okay.

Henry’s lips curled into a faint smile.

Henry said, Hop in. It’s getting dark, so take it slow on the road.

Natalie nodded, turned around, opened the driver’s door, carefully set the white ceramic pot on the passenger se fastened her seatbelt.

She started the car, and as the window rolled down, she turned her head to glance at Henry.

Natalie said, You drive safe too.

With that, the window rolled back up. The black Audi eased out of the parking lot, its taillights glowing in the nigh slowly disappeared down the winding mountain road.

Henry stood there, watching those two red lights fade around the bend, not moving for a long while.

He glanced down at his hand, when he handed her the pot, her fingers had brushed against his.

Just a fleeting touch, so light and quick, but I can still feel the warmth lingering, Henry thought.

He gently traced that finger with his other hand, let out a soft laugh, then shoved his hands into his pockets.

At Mitchell Manor.

When Natalie pushed the door open, the food was just coming out of the kitchen.

Charlotte saw her come in, quickly set the soup down on the table, and came bouncing over to Natalie.

Nat, you’re back! Mom missed you like crazy!Chariotte called out.

Charlotte wrapped her up in a huge hug, making Natalie smile as she hugged her back.

William poked his head out of the kitchen. Oh, you’re back! You’re up for dinner already? Hungry?

Yeah, I’m starving,” Natalie replied.

Ethan and Blake came out of the kitchen too, each carrying the dishes they’d made.

They couldn’t help but smile fondly at Natalie.

Natalie glanced at her two brothers, but Andrew was nowhere to be seen Where’s Andrew?she asked

She remembered Blake had a basketball club game tonight, and Rosie was there too. Nian, as usual was swamped

But Andrew? He was usually home around this time

Ethan shook his head No idea. Maybe he’s working late. He hasn’t been home all week just crashing at his own place.

Natalie nodded, showing she got it

Don’t just stand there, come by the new recipes we’ve been working on See if they suit your taste. Blake said

Blake had already served her a plate of pasta. He’d heard from his younger brother this morning that Henry had been making Natalie’s meals lately

He never saw it coming, and it pissed him off

He kept quiet, spending the whole day experimenting with new dishes, just to make sure Natalie got his cooking instead. No way am I letting anyone else take my spot!

And Henry? Absolutely not He’s not getting anywhere near Natalie! Blake thought angrily

That weekend, Natalie headed back to Upade Town

Chapter 205 Hog Whats Mine

She got there around two in the afternoon, and Larkin texted her that Jacob was up on the mountain playing Go Miller

Larkin was keeping an eye from a comfortable distance.

Lately, Larkin had been giving her a full rundown on Jacob’s health every single day.

Ever since Jacob started taking the medicine, his mind had been sharper than before, and his body didn’t hurt ne much. The only downside was he was sleeping a lot more.

But that’s just how it goes, every medicine has its side effects, and this was the best way to ease his pain.

Natalie didn’t go up the mountain to find him. Instead, she went inside, prepared the medicine, and quietly sat dov wicker chair Jacob liked to sit in.

She just sat there, not even sure what she was thinking about.

Ever since she found out about Jacob’s illness, she kept wondering, Why didn’t I notice sooner? If I had, maybe th still a chance, Natalie thought.

But she also knew this was Jacob’s choice. He knew that if he told her about his illness, he could refuse chemothe and she could use another method to help him.

She couldn’t completely cure the cancer, but she could make sure he didn’t suffer, keep the cancer from spreading, could easily live another ten years.

But Jacob didn’t go for that. She had still underestimated how much Jacob loved Mrs. Miller.

Some time passed before footsteps sounded outside the door.

Natalie stood up as Larkin and Jacob strolled in, chatting casually.

Jacob opened the door and, seeing Natalie, wasn’t the least bit surprised. He grinned at her. I knew you’d come bac Have you eaten yet? I made some meatballs for you at lunch, want me to cook some up now?

Natalie stepped forward to steady him. No, I haven’t eaten. I just knew you’d be making something for me.

Hahaha, alright, I’ll whip some up for you right now!

Natalie nodded, watching him head into the kitchen.

Larkin started giving her a detailed update, but before he could get more than a couple of words out, Natalie perked up caught the faint sound of something outside.

She frowned and raised her hand, signaling Larkin to stop talking.

She got up and walked slowly to the front door, peeking out to see two figures acting suspiciously at the gate.

Both of them were wearing masks, hats, and sunglasses, fully disguised from head to toe.

Natalie’s eyes narrowed, cold and sharp, as she crept closer, moving as quietly as a shadow.
