The Scorned Heiress's Hidden Empire (by Jade Quinn) novel Chapter 166

Chapter 166

Everyone was on edge, and Natalie hadn’t planned to tell them right now. She was just going with the flow

But since they already knew, it was no big deal. At least it gave them something else to focus on.

The next day at Mitchell Manor.

Andrew and the others were sitting together in the living room, their faces tense and serious as they stared intently at thei computer screens.

They’d already posted countless bounties on Obsidian Net for Jeremiah Ross. The earliest ones had been up for almost twenty hours now, but not a single lead had turned up.

Natalie had told them she could save Jonathan’s leg, but the recovery would be long and painful.

They all knew that Natalie’s medical skills were their last resort. The best chance they had was to find Jeremiah Ross. Over the past two days, Yecoton erupted in chaos again. Blondie went off the grid as soon as he crossed the border yesterday, and Natalie had no clue what was going on with him now.

Those two days dragged on forever, feeling like an eternity.

Today was the third and final day, and they all headed to the hospital first thing in the morning.

Inside Charles’s office, Natalie, Evelyn, and the Mitchell family were all gathered together.

If Jeremiah Ross doesn’t show up in the next two hours, we’ll have to proceed with the operation. Miss Moore, we ll need you and Larkin to join us in the operating room,Charles said

Natalie was idly twirling a pen in her hand, and when she heard this, she nodded.

The others had all but given up hope that Jeremiah Ross would show up. Two days had passed, and there wasn’t even a whisper of news, let alone a miracle appearance.

Now, everyone was putting their faith in Natalie.

The orthopedic experts figured there was less than a ten percent chance the surgery would work. To puts oluniy toght as well be amputation.

Even if the recovery dragged on and was tough, it was worth it. At least he’d still have kis leg, and there’d still be hops

comeback.

Time ticked by, and with just an hour left, the doctors were already starting to prep for surgery.

The orthopedic specialists all looked tense and serious, the pressure weighing heavily on them

Blondie was still missing, but Natalie wasn’t really worried about him getting into trouble. What really bothered her was that Jeremiah Ross still hadn’t appeared

She put on her surgical gown and, right before stepping inside met the hopeful gazes of Evelyn, Nora. Lucas, and Charlotte

She didn’t say a word, just turned her gaze away

The next second, breathless, urgent shout rang out from the end of the hallway.

Wait, wait, want, just wait

Everyone turned to look, and there was Blondie. hauling an old man along as he raced toward them.

They all recognized Blondie, but the old guy he was dragging along was a total stranger. Nobody had any idea what was happening or what Blondie was trying to pull.

Talia, II brought him!Blondie panted, barely able to get the words out.

Jeremiah Ross was completely winded. He just couldn’t keep up with Blondie. After being dragged at full speed, he stop bent over with his hands on his knees, struggling to catch his breath.

Andrew frowned, his eyes fixed on the old man standing next to Blondie, a skinny, tanned fellow with gray hair and rim glasses.

Who did Blondie drag in? What’s going on?

Who is this guy? Andrew thought, totally baffled.

Even the doctors at the hospital didn’t recognize Jeremiah Ross either.

Natalie was the only one who walked up and shook his hand. Professor Ross, you’re finally here. We’ve been waiting for For a long time.

Professor Ross? Hehe’s Jeremiah Ross?Evelyn blurted out, her eyes going wide in disbelief.

She stared at the old man, who didn’t look anything like a doctor. She just couldn’t believe it.

The Mitchell family felt their temples throb when they heard Natalie say that. Jeremiah Ross? They were totally floored.

Did Natalie really bring Jeremiah Ross here?Andrew thought, stunned.

Charles’s little eyes were round as saucers as he stared at Jeremiah Ross for what felt like ages. He just couldn’t believe his

eyes.

Youyou’re Jeremiah?Charles stammered, still in shock.

He’d known Jeremiah Ross for twenty years.

Back then, they were both young doctors, going to conferences together, grabbing drinks, and chatting about their parents

He remembered Jeremiah Ross as tall, lightskinned, with thick hair and a booming laugh.

But the old man standing in front of him now was almost unrecognizable. He looked nothing like the Jeremiah Ross he use

to know.

Charles’s eyes grew misty in an instant. He walked over and stood before Jeremiah Ross, gazing at hun

Jeremiah Ross looked up at Charles and gave a small smile, which made the wrinkles on his face even more pronounced

Long time no see, Charles!he said.

What happened to you? You’ve changed so much,” Charles asked, his voice trembling

Charlotte beamed and shook Jeremiah Ross’s hand. Dr. Ross, we never thought you’d actually show up. We can’t thank you enough!

Jeremiah Ross shook his head. Don’t mention it.

He glanced at Natalie. It was only the second time he’d seen her, and in just three years, he was surprised at how much she

grown

Natalie gave him a slight nod. It’s getting late. The patient’s already inside. Please prepare for the surgery?

Jeremiah Ross nodded. Alright, I’ll get going.

After he left, Nora and the others were practically bursting with excitement.

Natalie! Did you actually find Dr. Ross?Nora blurted out, her voice full of disbelief.

Andrew, Ethan, and Blake just stared at Natalie, totally dumbfounded. Their minds were completely blown, trying to proc what just happened.

They’d been searching for so long and hadn’t found a single clue.

But right before the surgery, Jeremiah Ross showed up, and it was Natalie who found him!

Natalie just hummed in response to Nora, then noticed the three brothers staring at her and turned to meet their gaze.

She knew exactly what was on their minds, so she explained, I reached out to Professor Ross three days ago, but he was in recoton at the time.

Things were way too unpredictable over there these past couple of days. I didn’t want you guys getting your hopes up for nothing, so I kept it to myself. If he could make it, awesome. If not, I’d just act like I never even tried.
