The Scorned Heiress's Hidden Empire (by Jade Quinn) novel Chapter 187

Chapter 187

Chapter 187

Why?

I’m allergic to bitches,Natalie replied.

Nobody expected Natalie to be so straightforward.

Usually, Natalie was cool and aloof, barely talking to anyone, but she never showed any hostility.

What’s gotten into her today? Did that girl in the pink dress do something to tick her off?they wondered.

Iris Rowan finally couldn’t keep her composure.

Her smile froze on her face, the corners of her mouth twitching. She held her textbook awkwardly in midair, not sure if he should sit down or stay standing.

She hadn’t expected that after more than two months, Natalie would still have such a sharp tongue.

Everyone was staring at Iris, making her feel totally uncomfortable.

She glanced at Natalie, the one who started all this, but Natalie just looked back at her with a calm, deadpan expression. Iris tightened her grip on her book.

Seriously? Just two weeks of training and everyone’s already drooling over Natalie’s face?Iris thought, rolling her eyes.

How did this bunch of idiots even make it into Redvale University?she snarked to herself.

Rosie Rowan was sprawled across her desk, her shoulders shaking with barely contained laughter.

She snuck a peek at Iris Rowan’s expression through the crook of her arm, feeling absolutely delighted inside.

Ha! Natalie totally embarrassed her without even breaking a sweat!Rosie thought, feeling smug.

Iris looked completely lost. INatalie, did I do something to piss you off? Why are you saying this about me?

As she spoke, tears started streaming down her face, faster than you could turn on a faucet. Just like that, she was crying.

A bunch of guys nearby saw how helpless she looked and couldn’t help jumping in to defend her.

What’s up with Natalie? She didn’t even do anything to her. Isn’t that a bit much?

Yeah, she’s bawling her eyes out and Natalie doesn’t even look at her. That’s ice cold.

Just because she’s pretty doesn’t mean she gets to push people around.

Maybe there’s some kind of misunderstanding? Don’t rush to pick a side.”

What kind of misunderstanding would make someone say I’m allergic to bitchesin front of everyone? That’s basically calling her a bitch to her face!

The room was buzzing with gossip, and Iris caught every word. A faint smirk tugged at her lips. Heh, they’re all trashing me. Whatever, she thought.

Natalie acted like she didn’t hear a thing. She shot a sideways glance at Iris, who was still standing there with a nasty look in her eyes. Get lost, what are you waiting for, Christmas?

Her words were impatient, and everyone could tell she wasn’t pulling any punches.

Chapter 187

Iris’s tears were still streaked down her cheeks, her lips trembling. She looked like she’d just been bullied in eclecce

Only when a pitiful tear slid down her face did she carefully pick up her textbook and get ready to leave her seat

The classroom fell silent for a moment, then a guy stood up.

He wore halfrim glasses and a crisp white shirt, looking like he just walked out of a test prep brochure seriously, the perfect student.

This was Vincent Tate, the class rep for Physics One. He’d scored third in the whole school on the SAT and even snagged fr place in the state physics competition.

Vincent turned to Natalie, pushed up his glasses, and called her out, clearly upset. Natalie. I think you’ve gone too far

He didn’t raise his voice, but he was totally serious, like he was doing what he thought was right.

Everyone in the classroom, all sixtysomething of them, had their eyes glued to him, ready for the show.

Natalie finally lifted her head and looked at him.

Her gaze was so blank and emotionless, it was like she was staring straight through a wall.

Iris just asked if she could sit there, and instead of giving her a straight answer, you insulted her by calling her a bitch.

She ended up in tears because of you, and not only did you refuse to apologize, you doubled down!

Vincent spoke each word deliberately, like he was reading out a list of charges.

As class rep, I feel it’s my responsibility to remind you, please be mindful of your words and actions in public,he said firmly.

After he spoke, some low voices in the classroom echoed in agreement.

Vincent’s right.

Yeah, that was way too much.

So just because she’s the school beauty, she gets to insult people whenever she wants?

Natalie spun a black pen between her fingers, giving Vincent a look that basically said, Are you nuts?

None of your business,” she shot back, her tone casual but cutting.

Those four words landed harder than her I’m allergic to bitchesline.

Vincent just stood there, his face turning beet red, his mouth opening and closing like a fish out of water, but he couldn’t get a single word out.

The students glanced at each other, wideeyed and stunned.

Damn, Natalie’s savagebut she’s such a badass! I freaking love her!

But honestly, she’s not wrong. He’s not even involved. Why’s he sticking his nose in their business?

Yeah, acting like he’s all that.

Still, her attitude is kindaintense.

Intense how? She didn’t even mess with him. He just jumped in and totally brought it on himself. Who’s he gonna blame?

Chapter 187

Vincent’s face turned red, spreading down to his neck as he heard everyone talking abour hum

He stared at Natalie, and she stared right back, her face unreadable, like she was silently asking Got anything cle

I’m the class rep.Vincent said, his voice tight. It’s my responsibility to keep things orderly

Natalie stopped spinning her pen and tapped it lightly on the desk.

She leaned back in her chair, tilting her head as she looked at Vincent, a halfamused, halfsarcastic smile tugging at her lips

Alright, guess we’ll leave law and order to you, Justice Judge, she said, her tone laced with sarcasm.

As soon as Natalie said that, the classroom absolutely exploded.

Justice Judge! Hahahahaha!

From now on, let’s call the class rep Vincent Judge! I’m cracking up!
