Chapter 192
Remi took a deep breath, picked up the ball, and walked to the three–point line.
He glanced at the basket, then at Natalie. Natalie was already in a defensive stance, her weight slightly forward arms naturally spread, eyes locked straight ahead.
Remi started to drive, his first step quick, but Natalie’s footwork was even faster than he expected. She side–stepped smoothly, always blocking his way like a shadow he just couldn’t shake.
Remi tried to use his body to push her aside, but her core strength was way stronger than he expected. He/shoved twice but she didn’t budge at all.
Forced to pull up for a jump shot near the free–throw line, the ball bounced off the rim and missed.
Natalie grabbed the rebound and dribbled out to the three–point line.
She shot a glance at Remi. His defensive stance was still textbook, but he was breathing way harder than before, sweat pouring down his forehead.
Natalie took a dribble, then suddenly went behind the back, switching the ball from her left to right hand. Remi shifted right to keep up.
But Natalie didn’t drive in. She stepped back to a spot two steps beyond the three–point line, rose up, and let it fly.
The ball arced high through the air, a perfect rainbow headed for the hoop.
Swish. Another nothing but net.
“6-0!” Ryan shouted, his voice bubbling with excitement.
Ryan was losing his mind.
He whipped out his phone and started recording a video to post in the family group chat.
Evan wasn’t standing anymore. He was squatting by the sidelines, hands clutching his head, eyes wide as saucers.
He swallowed hard, totally blown away.
“Holy crap, Natalie’s a beast!”
Rosie was standing on the sidelines, with Eamon right beside her.
All that earlier unhappiness had vanished completely. Now, she couldn’t take, her eyes off Natale She was just too awesome. too badass!
Eamon never thought Natalie could actually play basketball, let alone be this good
On the court, Kemi wiped the sweat from his forehead, grabbed the ball, and dribbled out to the three–pont line
This time, he didn’t rush in. Instead, he slowed things down, trying to shake Natalie with some changes in rhythm.
But Natalie wasn’t buying it. Her stance was solid as a rock, like she was planted there, eyes locked onto Remi’s waist.
When she played defense, Natalie always watched the waist, not the shoulders. That was her own trick.
Remi had no choice but to force a shot from way outside. The ball bounced off the rim and rolled out.
Chapter 192
Natalie grabbed the rebound, dribbled out to the three–point line, and without even pronung rose s
shot.
Swish.
“9-0!” Ryan shouted, his voice practically bursting with excitement.
The crowd was losing it.
People were tossing their hats into the air, hugging whoever was next to them and jumping around screaming Natalie freaking awesome!” until their voices cracked.
Arianna stood behind the long table, her face pale as a sheet. The registration form in her hand was crumpled into a bacher) nails digging deep into her palm.
Remi stood there, looking at Natalie, and suddenly just laughed.
‘Damn, she’s absolutely crushing me out here. I don’t stand a chance, Remi thought.
The final shot.
Natalie had the ball, standing outside the three–point line.
Remi’s defense wasn’t nearly as suffocating as it was at the start.
Natalie took two dribbles and went straight up for the shot. Remi lunged to block, his hand almost got a fingertip on it, but the ball was already gone, flying toward the basket.
Swish. Nothing but net.
“10-0!” Ryan shouted, his voice practically bursting with excitement.
The whole thing was over in less than ten minutes.
Everyone was in total disbelief.
Who didn’t know how good Remi was? He was the star of the school team, last year’s scoring champ in the state college league, averaging 20 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists a game.
His first step was lightning fast, his pull–up jumper was money, and his defense was so tight it made opponents question their life choices.
Last year in the semifinals, he drained a buzzer–beater three with just three seconds left, leaving all twelve thousand tans in the arena speechless.
And now, this absolute beast was getting demolished by a freshman from the physics department, lett totally powerless to ‘fight back.
The whole place went dead silent for a moment, then exploded with the wildest cheers anyone had ever heard
“Oh my god, she’s a total badass!”
“Natalie is so awesome! Gorgeous, fierce, and unstoppable!”
“Help, I need someone to remind me I’m still straight!”
“I wish I could be her friend! You’d be so lucky to have her on your side!”
Rosie was so hyped she couldn’t sit still. She ran over and hugged Natalie tight. “Natalie!”

Chapter 192
Natalie staggered from the impact but quickly regained her balance. She looked acro knees, catching his breath
“I won, Natalie said
Remi accepted his defeat without a single complaint He straightened up, his eyes full of respuer beste boke
“You won,” he said
Narabe
He turned and walked toward Arianna. “Arianna, let them compete fairly. No more sneaky moves. And whatever you waard i her, apologize
He shook his head, frowning, and motioned for her to come over.
Arianna stood there, her face grim. After a long moment, she finally squeezed out a reluctant.
Everyone was staring at her, making her squirm with discomfort, her cheeks burning red.
Fine
“She really was out of line. Why bully someone for no reason?”
“Yeah, it’s not like she owes her anything.”
“If it weren’t for wanting to join the cheer squad, I wouldn’t even bother with her!”
*****
Arianna was mortified by the whispers all around her. She forced herself to walk over to Rosie, her voice barely above a whisper. “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have said those things to you.”
Rosie pouted at her. “Hmph, if it weren’t for Natalie, would you even be apologizing?
“Your apology isn’t even sincere, but whatever, I’m not gonna hold it against you. Seriously, you have zero manners or upbringing.”
Arianna kept her head down, frowning at Rosie’s words, but said nothing.
Who does she think she is, acting like she’s so above it all? And now she’s saying I have no manners or upbringing? Ugh so
annoying.
