Chapter 26
Andrew stood up quietly as well. A few minutes later, Ethan and Andrew came back into the living room.
Ethan had changed into a dark gray sweatsuit and had fixed his hair, so it wasn’t quite so perfectly styled, making him look a few years younger.
Andrew was dressed in simple black athletic wear, which made him look even more handsome and gave him a calm, quiet presence. “Let’s go, Natalie.”
“Hold on. I’m coming with you.” William came down from the second floor in loose clothing. He had heard the commotion downstairs right after waking up.
William wanted to be part of his daughter’s life. He thought, ‘How could I miss out on something this important?‘
They walked out to the garden clearing, the morning sunlight falling on them.
Natalie stopped, facing the rising sun in the east. She took a few deep breaths and slowly exhaled. The morning breeze stirred her hair and the hem of her clothes, softening her cool temperament with a touch of warmth and stillness.
The three guys tried to follow her lead, a little awkwardly. William wasn’t even sure what kind of morning exercise they were about to do.
“Natalie, what kind of exercise is this?” William asked.
“Martial arts,” Natalie said, her voice gentler than usual.
William, Ethan, and Andrew were all a bit surprised. They hadn’t expected her morning routine to be martial arts. But none of them asked any questions. They simply followed Natalie’s lead and stood in position.
Natalie began with the opening posture. Her movements were slow and fluid, like flowing water, yet carried an unspoken steadiness and strength. Her gaze was focused and calm, as if she had merged with the air around her.
Each motion looked slow on the surface but actually contained subtle power with stillness in motion, strength, and grace in balance.
William had dabbled in martial arts when he was younger. But after years of focusing on business, he had forgotten almost everything.
Now, following his daughter’s movements, William tried his best. His motions were stiff, but his expression was unusually serious.
Ethan and Andrew were complete beginners.
They tried to copy Natalie as she raised her hands, shifted her weight, and turned her waist. But they quickly realized that what looked simple was not easy to do with coordination and precision. Either their hands and feet didn’t sync up, or they couldn’t keep their balance.

Natalie continued her own movements while watching them from the corner of her eye. She didn’t say anything, only occasionally slowed her pace or made a particular motion clearer so they could follow along.
William slowly began to find the rhythm, his movements becoming smoother. He let himself sink into the long–lost sense of peace and focus.
Ethan felt awkward with the slow pace at first, but he forced himself to settle down and follow along. Gradually, his clumsy imitation started to feel a little more natural.
Andrew was the quickest to find his flow. He was naturally calm to begin with, and he quickly understood the way martial arts balanced stillness and motion.
When they finished the set, the four of them slowly came to a stop. A thin layer of sweat covered their foreheads, but their breathing was steady, their expressions relaxed, and their eyes seemed clearer than before.
“That felt good.” William let out a long breath and patted Natalie on the shoulder, his smile full of pride and emotion. “I didn’t know you were so skilled at martial arts. That form had real depth.”
There was a unique rhythm and control to every move Natalie made. It wasn’t only about getting the posture right. It was something deeper, something ingrained.
William had seen a lot in his younger days. Now, as he reflected on the way Natalie had moved, a certain figure came to mind.
He thought, ‘The way Natalie carried herself when she was doing martial arts just now reminds me of that grandmaster.’
Years ago, at some highly confidential event, William had been fortunate enough to observe a demonstration from a grandmaster of the Serenity Sect from a distance.
That grandmaster had been well past seventy at the time, but the way he moved as if he were one with the world had stayed with William all these years.
And now, watching his daughter, William felt that something in her expression faintly echoed the grandmaster in his memory.
The Serenity Sect was an extremely mysterious and low–key school. Its members rarely appeared in the mundane world. Becoming a disciple required not only talent and character, but also the right timing and luck as well.

The warrier was slow on the surface, but actually great for regulating breath and sharpening the mind. It was far more beneficial for them than a high–intensity workout
Charlotte, wearing a white silk nightgown, yawned, “Natalie, why are you up so early? Hey, did you guys go work out?”
Blake smiled, “Save a spot for me when I get back” The Black Viper Crew had run into some trouble yesterday, and he needed to go handle it.
