Chapter 28
Gabe let out a scoff and crossed her arms. “Miss, if you could actually pay for it, we’d be more than happy to sell them to you
right away.
“But first you want to see this one, then that one, and now you want to wait for the manager. We’re busy here We don’t have time to play house with you.”
Rosie was about to argue when someone cut in at the worst possible moment. Well, well. If it isn’t Natalie. What are you doing here?
They all turned toward the voice and saw Isabelle standing behind them with another girl.
Isabelle crossed her arms and looked Natalie and Rosie up and down, her tone dripping with mockery. “Natalie, I had no idea you ended up in Harbor City after you got kicked out.”
Isabelle, is this the loser who stole from you and then hit you with that cactus?” the girl next to her asked.
She wore a simple off–white dress, her long hair loosely pinned up with a plain hairpin. Her features were soft, her expression calm, giving her an almost classical elegance.
She was none other than Annabelle Young, the most prized granddaughter of Avery, who was a giant in the medical field and Isabelle’s mentor.
Annabelle had studied alternative medicine under Avery since she was young and was naturally gifted. By chance, she had been accepted as a disciple of the Serenity Sect, a reclusive and mysterious school, where she trained in martial arts and the art of wellness.
In medical circles and certain exclusive circles, Annabelle was highly respected and used to being treated like royalty That had shaped her into someone proud, aloof, and a little condescending.
Now, her gaze swept over Natalie and Rosie, lingering on Natalie for a moment longer.
The simplicity of Natalie’s clothes and her striking looks made Annabelle frown slightly. Annabelle didn’t like how Natalie tood out so much, nor did she like the calm, indifferent aura Natalie carried, which felt faintly disrespectful to Annabelle
sabelle stepped forward, raising her voice so that everyone in the store could hear. “That’s right. It’s her. Some country >umpkin who mooched off us for years and still had sticky fingers. No manners at all.
She stole the birthday gift I was giving to my mentor. It was the last piece in Aileen’s Legacy collection. It had so much meaning.
I thought it suited my mentor perfectly, so I went through a lot of trouble to get it. And Natahe nearly ruined in
The staff and customers in the store exchanged looks of realization and contempt They thought. That gul looks decent. Can’t believe she’s actually a thief who got kicked out by the family she was leeching off.
And she had the nerve to pretend she could afford a watch that is worth millions of dollars? Classic case of keeping up

Rosie was shaking with rage. She pointed at Isabelle “That’s a lie Natale is not that kind of person You’re making it up
“What do you expect? Birds of a feather flock together” Isabelle sneered
Natalie pulled the funung Rosie behind her and smiled though the expression didn’t teacher eyes “That was a lovely speech Too bad it’s nothing but hot air

Chapter 28
“It’s a fake. Not everyone treats it like some treasure as you do. I wouldn’t even want to touch that thing.”
Annabelle frowned and looked at Isabelle. “A fake?”

Isabelle was caught off guard, sputtering in anger. “What do you mean, a fake? How could something I gave my mentor be fake? You’re bitter because you got caught. What do you even know about it, you country bumpkin?”
Natalie snorted but didn’t say anything else. Coincidentally, she would also be attending Avery’s birthday party, and the gift she was bringing happened to be the final piece of the Legacy collection. It would be interesting to see how things played out then.
Isabelle and Annabelle took Natalie’s silence as guilt. Isabelle wanted to press on and humiliate Natalie further, but a glance at Annabelle made Isabelle hold her tongue.
Annabelle’s eyes moved past Natalie to the display case behind her, and she walked toward it.
Annabelle’s gaze settled on the Pearl. “I’d like to try this one on.”
Gabe heard Annabelle’s request and hurried to respond, “Of course, Miss Young.”
