“Steve…” Her brows drew together as she tried to explain. “That’s not what I meant.”

“You’ve made your meaning very clear.” Steve’s face was expressionless. “I still have a lot of work to deal with. You should go.”

Sasha looked at him, as if she wanted to say more, but in the end, she only picked up her bag and turned to leave.

Steve kept his tone mild. “I was wrong last time. I shouldn’t have said those things. I’m apologizing. And don’t tell me you’re busy. I know you’ve already left the station.”
