Chapter 334
Gavin didn’t come along.
He was probably still in Liono City, holding Zion and the others back. After all, Gavin’s combat ability was something Zion himself had called terrifying. If Chris wanted someone to block Zion and keep Skyla safe, Gavín was the most reliable choice.
At the Zeller family estate, Zion was on his way to find William when he passed through the courtyard and saw Sean stepping out, fastening his cufflinks.
“Mr. Zeller.”
Sean gave a faint acknowledgment. He slowed to a stop, and Zion immediately stopped as well, standing across from him.
“Did William send you to capture Skyla last night?” Sean asked calmly.
“Yes.”
“And where is she now?” His tone stayed even.
At the mention of it, Zion felt a surge of anger, but under Sean’s steady gaze, he forced himself to calm down and briefly explained what had happened at the hospital’s side entrance.
“That’s what Gavin told you?” Sean adjusted the collar of his coat. “Are there any of Chris’s people at Westbury now?”
Zion shook his head. “No. But we can’t get close. The moment we’re within two blocks, Gavin intercepts us.”
He swore that big, deadpan idiot Gavin seriously had nothing better to do.
Sean glanced at a white magnolia petal drifting down under the eaves. “Where’s Winter?”
“She was taken by Chris. We don’t know where, but William got word from him that she’ll be back in two days.” Zion hesitated. William was already in a bad mood from failing to capture Skyla, and not being able to see Winter was only making things worse.
“Mr. Zeller, I think we should send more people. There’s no way we can’t get Skyla.
“We’ve waited half a month already. A few more days won’t make a difference.”
After saying that, Sean walked past him.
A white magnolia flower drifted down and landed by Zion’s feet. He frowned. What did that mean? Was William supposed to just swallow this?
At breakfast, Winter quietly glanced around the dining room, trying to see if there was a clock. She needed to
know the time.
If she knew the time, then based on how long the helicopter had flown, she could roughly guess whether she was still in the country or already overseas.
