Watching Skyla’s face turn ashen, Gavin thought of Mrs. Young’s brutal death.

After hearing what he had said, Skyla froze.

She had planned everything so carefully for one reason. She couldn’t let Chris find out.

She struggled and shouted, “So when you told me Chris had found someone better suited than me, that was a lie. You said it to force me into making a move, didn’t you?”
