Early the next morning, Winter woke before dawn. After quickly washing up, she went to the IOU on the top floor

Not far away, Gavin watched her enter the elevator. Only then did he knock on Chris’s door and push it

open.

“Ms. Scott went to see Richie.”

Chris buttoned his hospital gown.

“Got it.”

Gavin followed slightly behind him as they left the room.

While they waited for the elevator, Gavin reported, “After Jimmy went back to the university yesterday, he didn’t do anything unusual. He went to his meeting, taught his classes, and went home. He’s always kept to himself and doesn’t socialize much.”

That was exactly what Chris had expected.

His expression remained cold.

“He’s too calculating to expose himself this quickly, even if he has something to hide. Have someone keep watching him in secret.”

“Yes.”

The elevator reached the top floor.

Chris stepped out and looked at the heavy isolation doors as they slowly closed. Winter was walking inside step by step, still carefully checking whether her protective gown was properly secured.

Chris stopped and quietly watched her serious expression.
