Natalie looked straight ahead and responded coolly, “Edward’s a really nice guy. Don’t stress too much. Just show him

who you are.”

“Mm.” Nora nodded vigorously. ‘I’ve already played piano for Natalie before, so performing for Mr. Lopez shouldn’t be that intimidating. After all, Natalie is even more talented than Mr. Lopez.‘

But she couldn’t pretend she wasn’t nervous at all, since Edward had always been someone she looked up to.

Fifteen minutes later, they arrived at The Shell.

Built at a cost of four hundred million dollars, it was one of Harbor City’s most iconic cultural landmarks.

The shell–shaped, streamlined building shimmered with a cool, silvery sheen under the midday sun. Out front, the

Natalie and Nora, not wanting to interrupt anything, quietly picked a spot and sat down. Nora sat with her hands properly placed on her knees, but she couldn’t help sneaking glances at the stage.

The melody was utterly minimalist.

The left hand moved through slow, broken chords, while the right hand drew out long, restrained lines. No big flourishes, no showy technique, just hovering between a handful of neighboring notes.

It felt like someone walking along the coastline for a long time, their footprints washed away by the tide, yet they kept
