The Scorned Heiress's Hidden Empire (by Jade Quinn) novel Chapter 70

Chapter 70

Natalie picked up a small black gift box. It was the bottle of Dewlight she had prepared for Rosie.

In front of Mitchell Manor, a black Bentley sat outside. The sunlight fell on the car, reflecting a subtle, luxurious sheen. The car window slowly rolled down, revealing Henry’s aloof, strikingly handsome face.

Natalie stopped in her tracks for a second.

Rosie poked her head out from the passenger seat, waving excitedly at her. “Natalie. Henry’s going to Seaside City, so he’s giving us a lift.”

Natalie met Henry’s gaze and gave a slight nod. “Morning, Mr. Pierce.”

Lewis heard Rosie’s words and muttered to himself, ‘Yeah, right, like this is just on the way.‘

Henry knew Natalie and Rosie were heading to Seaside City together, so he’d finished all his work a day early just to offer the girls a ride.

He respectfully opened the back door for Natalie. “Miss Moore, please.”

Henry sat in the back seat, wearing a perfectly tailored dark gray suit that made him look even cooler and more refined.

He turned his head slightly, his piercing gaze landing on Natalie. His eyes lingered on her face for a moment before shifting away. He remembered what Charles had told him yesterday. ‘She’s not as simple as she looks.”

Natalie was lounging in her seat, watching the scenery outside, when she suddenly felt someone staring at her. She frowned a little and turned to him. “What are you looking at?”

Henry, cool as ever, raised an eyebrow and said earnestly, “You look gorgeous today.”

Natalie turned away, replying in a flat voice, “I know.”

Rosie was in the passenger seat, listening in on their conversation and sneaking peeks at the rearview mirror every so often.

Obviously, Natalie was a total knockout, but this was the first time Rosie had ever heard Henry actually compliment someone. For some reason, it just felt kind of weird, and she couldn’t figure out why. ‘Am I just overthinking it?‘ Rosie thought.

An hour later, they arrived at Riverside Terrace in Seaside City. The car rolled up smoothly to the entrance.

The restaurant was a private dining spot right by the river, with a sleek glass façade that reflected the sunlight. A wide terrace extended over the water, lined with minimalist metal railings and potted plants.

There were already plenty of cars parked out front, most of them low–key luxury rides, Clearly, a bunch of young people had shown up for the class get–together today.

And the truth was that most of the students in Natalie’s class were privileged kids from wealthy families.

Natalie stepped out, her black dress shimmering softly in the sunlight, making her look both aloof and striking.

Rosie hopped out of the passenger seat, her face beaming with excitement.

She waved at Henry. “See ya, Henry. We’ll give you a call when we’re finished.”

Henry nodded, watching as the two girls headed inside.

Lewis glanced at Henry. “Sir, so… what should we do now?”

“Let’s grab a bite,” Henry replied.

“Alright,” Lewis said.

Natalie and Rosie rode the elevator up to the third floor. Inside, Natalie passed the perfume over to Rosie.

Rosie’s eyes went wide, and her jaw practically hit the floor when she saw what was inside. “Oh, my god. Is this Dewlight from Atelier Nival?” Her voice bounced off the elevator walls, making Natalie’s ears hurt.

Natalie just nodded, totally unfazed.

“How did you even manage to get this?” Rosie clutched the box, her hands shaking.

“It’s impossible to get. I tried to buy it three times and still couldn’t snag one. Do you know how much scalpers are charging for it? It doesn’t even drop until tomorrow. How did you get it?”

Natalie watched Rosie, amused by how she was practically about to faint from excitement, and her lips curled into a small

smile. “I bought it a while back and never used it. Since you mentioned you liked it before, I thought I’d let you have it,”

Natalie said.

“Oh, my god. Thank you, Natalie. I love it so much.” Rosie hugged the gift box to her chest, her eyes getting a little misty. “Seriously, so much that I think I should… uh…”

She struggled for a bit and then finally blurted out, “I’ll just treat you to dinner for a whole year.”

Natalie couldn’t help but laugh.

The elevator chimed as they reached the third floor.

As the doors slid open, Rosie took a few deep breaths, trying to calm herself down. She carefully slipped the perfume into her little bag. “Natalie, I’m gonna hit the restroom. You go on in.”

Natalie nodded. She walked down the corridor, the soft carpet muffling her steps, and reached the entrance to the private

floor of Riverside Terrace,

Stepping inside, she was greeted by a spacious, open dining area. Sleek tables were arranged in small clusters, each surrounded by two to six people deep in quiet conversation.
