The Second Chance Of The Rejected Moon
Chapter 192
male voice coming from a dark corner of the room makes my entire body tense. I turn my head immediately and run toward Oana, placing myself between her and the darkness. My claws appear purely on instinct and my senses sharpen as I search for the source of the voice.
A low laugh moves through the room and sends a shiver down my spine, raising the hairs on my skin for several seconds.
Then I see him.
Zharzel emerges from the shadows, surrounded by a cloud of black smoke that slowly dissipates around his body. He raises both hands in a gesture of peace, and his mischievous smile quickly appears.
“Relax. It’s me. Can I give you a congratulatory hug for your sweet little baby?”
The tension leaves my body almost immediately. I lower my hands and my claws disappear, leaving my fingers in their normal form again. Zharzel has become a kind of strange and unexpected friend and, although he is still a demon capable of appearing out of nowhere in any room, I no longer consider him a threat.
“Of course you can.” I smile at him. “Come here.”
Zharzel makes a small movement with his hand and I hear a sharp sound behind me. I look over my shoulder and discover that where the door was before, there is now a perfectly sealed stone wall.
I blink.
“Sorry. I want privacy.”
Zharzel approaches with that mischievous smile that seems permanently attached to his face and, when he finally reaches me, I am the one who steps forward and hugs him. I feel his entire body tense in surprise.
“Well, I didn’t expect that, Auntie.”
His laughter fills the room again and I pull away from him, laughing too. We sit together on the bench and Zharzel immediately turns his attention toward my swords.
“I still can’t believe I’m not able to lift them.”
I shrug as I take one of the bottles of water from my bag and drink a long swallow.
“You can still try. Why did you come, Zharzel? I don’t think the birth of my daughter is something that important to a demon like you.”
Zharzel’s face takes on such an exaggerated expression of indignation that I have to hold back a smile.
“You hurt me deeply. Can’t a demon visit his dear aunt after she has had her first daughter?”
I shake my head as I drink again. When I lower the bottle, I wipe my lips with the back of my hand and narrow my eyes.
“First, I’m not your aunt. Second, you’re a demon. You don’t have feelings. And third, your visit has an important reason. If it didn’t, you wouldn’t have turned a door into a wall.”
Zharzel watches me for a few seconds and finally lets out a low laugh, careful not to wake Oana. Then he looks back at my daughter.
“She looks like you, fortunately.” He ignores everything I just said. “She doesn’t have a single one of her father’s facial features. Not even his hair. She’s a little terrible who will make more than one man sigh when she grows up.”

“That last part doesn’t amuse me at all.”
know.”
He looks at me with his head slightly tilted to the right, and his expression changes. The smile remains, but now there is something more serious behind his eyes.
“I came to see you because I have a message for you, little wolf.”
My eyes widen.
“A message from whom?”
“My uncle. The one people insist on drawing with horns and a long tail with a harpoon,”
I frown.
“A harpoon?”
“I have no idea. Humans have a rather strange imagination.”
I can’t help letting out a small laugh, but it quickly disappears when I realize he is serious.
“What does he want?”
Zharzel looks at Oana again before answering.
“He wants both you and your daughter to stay in this huge, ugly castle, because this is where you are happy. The problems between you and your silly mates will be resolved soon.”
I stare at him.
“Have you seen Karin and her two mates?”
The memory immediately appears in my mind. Karin, Logan, and Preston moving together, training together, working as a unit, and accompanying one another every moment of the day. Then I think about Valeria and Ciro, Christian, and Darien. Four people who found a way to build something that, to us, always seemed impossible.
“Yes, I’ve seen them,” I finally answer. “But Bastian isn’t like them. And I find it very difficult to imagine a future like that with my mates.”
Zharzel remains silent for a few seconds before placing a hand on my shoulder. His touch is warm, almost comforting, and his gaze completely loses the teasing tone that usually accompanies it.
“They just need time for everything to find its place. Your bond isn’t ordinary, beautiful. None of the three of you are.”
I lower my gaze toward my hands.
“I don’t know if Bastian will ever accept it.”
“Then talk to him. And talk to Johan. Tell them exactly how you feel. Not what they want to hear. Not what you think you should say. What you really feel.”
I slowly raise my eyes toward him.
“And what if they don’t want to accept it?”
