The Secret Heirs of the Lycan King (by Misha K) novel Chapter 5

**When Midnight Winds Carry Secrets Toward Worlds Yet Unknown**
**Chapter 5**

The elevator doors slid open, revealing a serene and stunning penthouse that felt like a world away from my turmoil. I had no desire to take in the lavish surroundings; instead, I made a beeline for the first couch that caught my eye, sinking into its plush embrace. My hands trembled uncontrollably, a physical manifestation of the storm brewing inside me. Tears, unbidden and relentless, streamed down my cheeks. I attempted to brush them away, but they continued to flow, a testament to the raw pain I was feeling. I didn’t want to appear weak or vulnerable in front of a stranger, but the hurt was too fresh, too overwhelming. It felt as if my heart had been ripped from my chest.

He stood a few paces away, his presence both comforting and intimidating. “Do you want something?” he asked gently, his voice a soothing balm against my distress.

I shook my head, my throat tight with emotion. “I-I’ll just leave in a little while. Th-thank you for helping me,” I managed to stammer, my words barely above a whisper.

He moved toward a bar cabinet, the soft sound of glass clinking against glass breaking the silence. He returned with a glass of wine, holding it out to me. When I didn’t take it, he knelt down in front of me, placing the drink carefully on the table between us. His eyes locked onto mine, filled with an intensity that made my heart race. “Drink. It will calm you,” he urged, his voice low and reassuring.

I picked up the glass, staring at the ruby liquid swirling within, and with a deep breath, I gulped it down. The warmth spread through my body, igniting a flicker of comfort amidst my sorrow.

“More?” he asked, his voice still soft. When I nodded, he poured another generous serving, the liquid burning slightly as it slid down my throat, transforming my tears into hiccups. I took another sip, and I could feel his gaze on me, unwavering and nonjudgmental, though I noticed the tension in his jaw tighten for a brief moment. He settled onto the armrest of the sofa, his posture relaxed but attentive.

As the warmth enveloped me, dulling the sharp edges of my grief, I felt a semblance of relief wash over me. I glanced up at him, his eyes sharp and piercing, yet somehow comforting. Finally, I broke the silence that hung between us. “My fiancé cheated on me with my stepsister,” I confessed, the words tumbling out in a rush. “We were supposed to marry in just three days, and today I walked in on them together.”

He growled softly, an animalistic sound that sent a shiver down my spine. “He doesn’t deserve you.”

I clenched my teeth, the bitterness of betrayal settling in my chest like a heavy stone. For a few moments, silence enveloped us, thick with unspoken words. Then, hesitantly, I ventured, “I want to ask you something.”

“Ask,” he replied, his voice gravelly, his eyes studying me intently, as if he were trying to memorize every detail of my face.

“Am I pretty enough?” I blurted out, the vulnerability of the question hanging in the air.

For a moment, he seemed taken aback, his eyes widening slightly. “Pretty? You are the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen,” he breathed, his sincerity evident. Then, in an unexpected gesture, he tucked a stray strand of hair behind my ear, his fingers brushing against my skin. “You are so pretty that I could have sex with you right now.”

My mouth fell open in shock at his unabashed honesty. Did he really just say that? It was as if hesitation was a foreign concept to him. “Do you offer yourself for sex to strangers like this?” I asked, my voice a mix of surprise and curiosity.

His gaze intensified, a flicker of something primal igniting in his eyes. “No, usually it’s the strangers who offer themselves to me,” he replied, his tone shifting. “But you’re the first person I’ve ever offered myself to. You can take advantage of my body. You know, like revenge sex?”

A blush crept up my cheeks, and I licked my lips nervously. The thought of using him to erase my pain was tantalizing, yet I felt a twinge of reluctance. He was watching me closely, gauging my reaction, and I could feel the weight of his gaze.

A breath I hadn’t realized I was holding escaped my lips. There was a calmness about him that I desperately needed, his steady words assuring me that I was safe and in control. When he kissed me, it wasn’t hurried; he waited for me to respond, and when I did, he deepened the kiss, always allowing me to lead.

As he shed his clothes, the anticipation crackled in the air. When we finally lay together, bare and vulnerable, he paused once more. “Are you still sure?” he asked, his voice a low rumble.

“Yes,” I replied, my fingers exploring the intricate tattoos that adorned his body. One in particular—a majestic wolf—decorated his chest, its vines winding elegantly over his shoulders and arms. It was as if a master artist had taken great care to create this living piece of art.

He cupped my face, his lips finding mine once more, and in that moment, the outside world faded away. My breath caught in my throat, my heart racing as warmth radiated through me. His mouth moved against mine with an urgency that made me tremble, as if he were trying to consume me whole. I melted against him, my fingers clutching at him desperately. The taste of him was sweet and intoxicating, making me forget everything except the fire that ignited between us. Each moment drew me deeper into him until I could no longer discern where I ended and he began. It was pure, consuming passion.

He trailed his kisses lower, finding my breasts and sucking my nipples with a fervor that sent waves of need coursing through my body, causing me to whimper. “You’re so beautiful,” he murmured reverently, his voice thick with desire. He continued his journey downward, kissing my belly button, igniting a spark of anticipation within me.

“Ah!” I gasped, my body arching towards him.

He lowered himself further, his gaze fixated on my most intimate parts, studying me as if I were a precious treasure. Then, with a teasing breath, he blew hot air over me, sending shivers down my spine as he gently parted my lips.
