Jacqueline looked around nervously, “um, I’m not even sure where to start.”

“Make your claims to Wilder and Rafferty.” Bar was

breathless as they stood in the moonlit courtyard, the four of them staring at one another.

“Who first?”

“Rock papers scissors?” Rafferty asked Wilder.

“Best two out of three?” Wilder agreed.

Jacqueline and Bar watched, oddly not surprised by the

way they were sorting this out. When Wilder won, Rafferty stepped back.

“I’m kind of glad. I want to prepare for how bad this is going to hurt. Our claiming is a little knife prick not two canines sunk deep into the collar.”

“Wait until your first shift,” Bar commented seriously. “Hurts

like a bitch but most bears shift at five or six. Surely fae

approaching their centennial won’t cry too much.”

Jacqueline took a breath and using the snow around them

made a small altar. “I want this to be as special as when we

were at the spring.” She looked at Bar, “Callisto is telling me

to give her control but she’s also telling me she’s going to fill up with,” she grimaced, “she’s very crude. I can’t even say the things she’s saying and I’m not a shy woman.”

Bar chuckled, “Orson can hear her. They aren’t bonded yet so he can’t actually communicate with her, but he can hear her. He finds her delightful.” Bar gave a laugh, “Wilder, she said she wants a bear orgy and that she’s willing to try you out in

human form too.”

“Unbelievable,” Jacqueline closed her eyes in

embarrassment. “My mother told me I’d never be alone again. The ramifications of my request is hitting me now. I mean, I didn’t need a bear counterpart to make me stronger because you know, Queen of Kings and Queens and all that but I really wanted a deeper connection to Orson. Now I am sharing a conscience with a harlot.”

“A harlot?” Wilder asked.

“She is definitely very much in touch with her baser needs,” Bar was laughing now. “Orson said she wants to be rutted until she can’t lift her head out of the snow. He is very willing to oblige.”

Jacqueline approached Wilder and took his hands in hers, “I Jacqueline Frost, in honor of my bear counterpart Callisto, will seal the bond of claim with you Wilder Vaughn as my blessed mate.” She heard Bar whisper to her to imagine her canines elongating the way she could follow her blessings in her blood, and she felt pain in her gums as her mouth suddenly felt too.

She leaned into Wilder’s bare torso and bit him. An electrical

current ran through their bodies, and a loud roar tore from Wilder’s chest as he threw his head back and fur spurted along his shoulders. He was clearly wrestling with what was happening but before she could figure out what he was doing, he grabbed her roughly by the hair and returned the

action to her neck.

“Artos,” Jacqueline gasped as Wilder’s beast counterpart made himself known. Wilder’s arms were wrapped around her tight, lifting her clear off the ground.

Wilder snarled, “I Wilder Vaughn, on behalf of my beast Artos

have sealed the bond of claim with you Jacqueline Frost as

my blessed mate.” He was gasping for breath, “holy shit he’s hard to keep at Bay.”

“Orson can hear him. He said he’s a big beast, not as big

as Orson but big. He’s strong.” Bar laughed, “and as feral

as Callisto. He’s got all kinds of wicked thoughts. He’s been

in the back of your conscience, and he heard Jacqueline’s question about offering blow jobs to bears and he is definitely wanting to try that.”

“He’s a sick son of a bitch with a very kinky side,” Wilder

clutched his chest, but he was staring reverently at Jacqueline, “is it weird I feel even closer to you now, as if our bond is a hundredfold stronger?”

“I feel the same.” She nodded enthusiastically. “Rafferty,” she

pulled him into the circle she’d made in the snow and recited the same pledge and then sunk her teeth into the curve of his neck and shoulder and he yelled, unable to contain the

reaction as their beasts‘ bonds were initiated.

Rafferty, as Wilder had, also appeared to be struggling to keep from shifting. His beast Otso was as strong as Artos and

Rafferty was quick to complete their bonding and moving to crouch away from the group as he grappled with forcing his beast to behave.

Jacqueline turned to Bar, “it is our furn. You have already claimed me. I only need to claim you now.” She wiped the blood from her chin and brought him into the circle.

“Can I say,” he took her hands in his and squeezed them, “that never have I ever met such a selfless, loving, beautiful soul as yours. To go to your mother and to ask for this so you can feel connected to my beast, my other half, is nothing short of incredible and I will never, not ever, forget this. I already loved you with a depth I could not explain but this, I am in awe of you. I am forever your servant, Jacqueline, Queen of Kings and Queens and daughter of the Queen Mother.” He bent his knees, “I welcome your claim on us.”

Reciting her pledge to him she sunk her teeth into him and the roar which escaped him caused the stillness of night to shudder around them.

Bar, no longer even trying to hold Orson back, dropped to all fours and shifted into his beast. Orson growled loudly, lunged at Jacqueline, and knocked her backwards onto her back. His huge paws on either side of her head his entire body covered 5/11
