Chapter 53: Chapter 53

TESSA POV

I was in hospital for three days in that pack before I was finally stable enough to leave and Cade drove us home while Tyler sat in the backseat with me. It felt good to be showered and in clean clothes again.

It took three hours to drive back home from there and when we got there I was surprised by all my friends at the house waiting with a surprise party. I still wasn’t at 100% but I was so glad that my friends were there for me. Even Ethan, Kaylee, Wyatt, Tobias and Taylor were there.

Ethan was manning the barbeque outside and Aria and Bella were making the salads and Naomi and Ruby were setting up the snack tables.

"This looks awesome. Thank you so much for this guys." I tell them all.

"We will be joining you all shortly. We’re just gonna see Mr. Missy after the long journey." Tyler says.

"I’m fine Tyler. I just sat in the car." I say.

"This is not negotiable. You are seeing the Doc on a regular basis. Weather you like it or not. We’re not taking any chances." He says.

"This is what I have to look forward to for the next 10 weeks ladies and gentlemen." I say and they all started laughing.

Dr. Missy came to the house and we went up to the bedroom and Angelo came upstairs with us to make sure that everything was alright. He hadn’t really left my side since I came home either. He was being really overprotective.

Dr. Missy told them that everything was good. The baby has a good heartbeat and motion right now and my blood pressure and everything seems great. She will see us tomorrow.

So we were able to go downstairs to join the party and I was surprised when there was someone else who had just arrived at the party.

"Sawyer." I say shocked.

"Hi Tessa. Wow, you look great." He says.

"Thanks. I’m surprised to see you here." I say.

"Well, a couple warriors took Sawyer back to the mansion that night and found his friends locked in the basement. They had been beaten and tortured and they were all humans. It was so Sawyer would do what Katherine wanted. We know that she was forcing him to help her. And we believe that he was there to help you." Tyler explained.

"He did help me. He never hurt me while I was there. He was the one that made sure I got fed and always changed my dressings on my wounds. He was kind to me." I say.

"Well, I guess that makes him family in our books." Angelo pipes up and we all looked at him weird. " He took care of my baby girl when she needed someone. He is family." Angelo insisted.

No one was expecting that from him and I put my arm around Angelo’s waist and leaned in to him and he kissed the top of my head.

"I can’t believe I have turned you into such a softie." I teased.

"I know. It’s weird seeing him like this." Elias says.

"Don’t you get used to it." Angelo says and I laugh.

"Come on. Is the food ready yet. I’m starving. That hospital food was horrible. And Tyler could only sneak in so much." I say. So we all headed outside and I was walking around mingling with people until I started getting tired from walking around. So I sat at the table and Tyler was on one side of me and Angelo was on the other side of me.

Sawyer ended up sitting at the table too with a girl that looked like she had been put through the ringer.

"Tessa. This is my girlfriend Ebony." He introduced.

"You’re one of the human’s in the basement." I say.

"That’s right." She says.

"I am so sorry for what happened to you. That must have been horrible." I say.

"Don’t worry about me. At least no one tried to steal my baby." She says.

"Yeah. I guess so. But what happened to you can’t be taken lightly. How long were you down there?" I asked.

"About a month." She says. And I close my eyes shaking my head.

"That’s horrible." I say.

"Hey, your mate killed the bitch and got us out of there. So we’re good, thank to you guys." Ebony says.

"Well, I’m glad that you’re alright. And you two are welcome here any time. If you guys need anything, then we’re here. Our pack is here." I say.

"Yeah. If they can get past the fact that we’ve now got an alliance with vampires." Carter says walking past.

"They can get over it. I’m half vampire." I tell him. And I was deadly serious and Tyler agreed with me. They can just get over it. I wasn’t going to toss out vampires if they had good intentions, especially because I was half vampire. That would be a little hypocritical of me.
